The character descriptions were spot on.
One night while alone in my house, I found myself turning on lights as I was actually a bit nervous. Normally, books don't frighten me. But, there are parts of this one that did. Especially the voice of the entity.
I was looking forward to the next book in this series having loved all of the others. I even pre-ordered this one. I was so disappointed when I discovered it wasn't focused on Cinder and her friends. (Now we have to wait until the fall of 2015.)
That being said, this was a good read. It explains so much of why Levana is the way she is. It doesn't make you like her, nor excuse her. It just explains. I am glad I listened. It helps make it through the time waiting for the next.
It almost seems like all of the authors I love have hit a writers block and I can't seem to find a book to read. But one day while watching the Starz network, I saw the show Outlander advertised. It peaked my interest, and I watched the first season. I loved the show and wanting more, I got the first book.
What an enjoyable book! The narrator "made" this book. I've noticed others have called this a romance, but I disagree. Had it been one, I wouldn't have finished the book. I have book 2 in my library and I will be listening soon!
This would not be a book I would have chosen had it not been for my favorite book reviewer on Audible recommended it. I am so glad I did.
Even though this is a heart breaking story, and Alice's journey with Alzheimer's has a predictable ending, it was an interesting and enjoyable listen. This book should be prescribed for anyone diagnosed or dealing with someone with Alzheimer's.
I you or anyone you know has this horrible disease, this is the book to read. You begin to understand what they are going through and what to expect. Who knows, it may help when your patience is at its end.
Movers have stolen an older couples entire household of belongings. Just the thought of this happening to me is unimaginable. How this man gets his payback is a thrilling adventure. I highly recommend this book. I listened to it in one sitting.
Harlan Coben is one of my favorite authors and I have read all of his books. "Stranger," was average. Usually his books are hard to stop listening to, and I usually do his all at once no matter how long they are. I found myself stopping the book for phone calls and such and forgetting later that I was even listening to a book. It's as though he is finding it hard to find things to write about.
If you are also a Harlan Coben fan, I know you will probably get this book as I did. Just don't expect his best.
I anxiously awaited book 2 of The Others series, and was not disappointed. I only wish it was a year later so I could read book 3!
Absolutely. Especially if they like some people, felt King had lost his edge over the years. He's back!
Hard to say.
Yes, and as usual, he was spot on.
Abra. Such a wise little girl.
I loved the entire book! But, my favorite would have to be the end of the book. I'm not going to give away any spoilers, but I found my eyes welling up with tears and a smile on my face.
At times I actually found myself talking out loud as if Jacob could hear me. After saying, "Oh no, don't go that way!" My son actually asked me, "What are you talking about? There is only one way to the back yard."
Christopher Lane gave each character their own unique sound. He did such a wonderful job. One reviewer said people who speak french only have accents when they speak English. I don't speak french, but when a friend of mine, who is french speaks french, she has a definite accent. I hate it when narrators try to do the opposite sex and end up sounding like they have an awful head cold, or are being strangled. Christopher Lane did a wonderful job!
Unfortunately I began the book late in the afternoon and had to force myself to stop and go to bed. That being said, as soon as I got up the next day, my headset was the first thing I picked up.
I can't say enough about this book. It is so worth the read!
EVERYTHING!! I told my son he had to read this. He bought it, and couldn't put it down. It's well written, and the narration is perfect!
No but I sure will now.
I tried but at 3AM, I still had 2 1/2 hours to go and had to go to bed. As soon as I woke up, the headphones were back on my head!
There is one heck of a story line, the math and science are spot on, and the narrator does a fantastic job. Even if you didn't like math or science in school, (I didn't.) it is worth reading. I don't want to spoil this book for anyone. All I can say is I haven't been this excited about a book in a long time!
If you're a fan of Kim Harrison, you'll read it anyway. I think I am bored with this series. I've read every one and this one was just like the last ones.
She should stick to reading and not acting. Her sex scenes were like listening to a fog horn going off in an elevator.
If this was the first book in the series it would have been good. Unfortunately it was like the ten (not sure of the exact amount.) before it.
I wish Kim harrison would write something new. I probably won't buy the next one if it is about Rachel Morgan....again.
