In little more than half a decade, Facebook has gone from a dorm-room novelty to a company with 500 million users. It is one of the fastest growing companies in history, an essential part of the social life not only of teenagers but hundreds of millions of adults worldwide. As Facebook spreads around the globe, it creates surprising effects, even becoming instrumental in political protests from Colombia to Iran.

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

When the book first came out and started getting a buzz, I didn't really know what it was all about. But, heard a lot of good things, so decided to give it a try. Although it was somewhat geared toward a more young adult audience, I still really enjoyed it.

The story is not completely unique - as I was listening it made me think of a cross between Battle Royale & The Running Man. But, it had good characters and was well told. The voice acting was okay.

I was looking forward to the movie when it came out, and it was good, but definitely enjoyed the book more.

From the larger, louder half of the world-famous magic duo Penn & Teller comes a scathingly funny reinterpretation of The Ten Commandments. They are The Penn Commandments, and they reveal one outrageous and opinionated atheist’s experience in the world.

If you're also a fan of their TV show "Bull____!" then you'll probably like this book. (There is swearing in this book, and swearing is fine with me, just wasn't sure if Audible is okay with me writing it here)

I really enjoyed Penn's narrating and he tells great stories. Like other reviews mentioned, this is more memoir than theological. And, I did wish it was longer because I was enjoying. Some parts were a little ranty, so if you're touchy maybe not for you. If you're a Penn fan, then go for it!

It’s been two years since the world ended. Two years since the dead rose and the plague of ex-humanity decimated mankind. For most of that time, the superhero called St. George, formerly known to the world as the Mighty Dragon, has protected the people of Los Angeles at their film-studio-turned-fortress, The Mount. Together with his fellow heroes, he’s tried to give the survivors hope and something like a real life. But the swollen population of The Mount is becoming harder and harder to sustain....

Stealth. Gorgon. Regenerator. Cerberus. Zzzap. The Mighty Dragon. They were heroes. Vigilantes. Crusaders for justice, using their superhuman abilites to make Los Angeles a better place. Then the plague of living death spread around the globe. Despite the best efforts of the superheroes, the police, and the military, the hungry corpses rose up and overwhelmed the country. The population was decimated, heroes fell, and the city of angels was left a desolate zombie wasteland like so many others.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Got 40 hours to kill? You’ll find the time when you start listening to Lee’s take on Follett’s epic – and widely celebrated – novel of 12th-century England. The Pillars of the Earth tells the story of Philip, prior of Kingsbridge, a devout and resourceful monk driven to build the greatest Gothic cathedral the world has known...of Tom, the mason who becomes his architect - a man divided in his soul...and of the beautiful, elusive Lady Aliena, haunted by a secret shame....

Took a little bit to warm up, but then I found myself hooked on it. But, I find myself saying that with most of my favorite stories. I enjoyed the narrator as well, although I listened at 1.5 speed (like I do with most audio books). Great characters, in depth story, vivid descriptions, long story but well paced. Recommended!
