"A voyage of discovery"
Just plain entertaining. I recommended it to a colleague at work for his teenage children. I'm enjoying different a genre since joining audible. It has broadened my horizons. Sail on captain!
"Thor hammers-it out of the park"
I read this type of book for entertainment, and that's what this book accomplished, it entertained me. Thor is very comparible to Flynn. Although there are alot of books in the genre not all of them are entertaining and most seem to be contrived in their storyline. Fast paced, entertaining, and leaves you with a desire for more.
"A friend of a friend of a friend told me"
A friend of mine heard one of the books I was doing while I was traveling on a business trip and said if I like that kind of book I ought to read Alex Berenson's books. He said a friend had told him that this series was great and that he was getting ready to listen, maybe I should too. Glad I did. Very captivating, well read and timely. Tell a friend, this series is great.
"Thor and Guidall - Five Star Combo"
Guidall gives masculine characters masculine voices, great accents, and emotion. Thor writes an entertaining, fast paced novel. Add them together, a perfect combo.
"Guidall makes Mitch Rapp"
This is the Vince Flynn I love, but George Guidall makes it better. You have to have someone who can sound like the character and George does it in spades. Very entertaining.
"I Hope History Doesn't Repeat itself"
It took me almost two months to complete but it also made me go out and buy my own copy for my library. Disturbing is the best word I can use to describe this book. And it frightens me to see similair things playing out today with most people saying it will never happen again. And when it does will be be standing around like the German people saying I wish I would have stood up earlier. I can see why so many people have bought a copy of this book, less we ever forget.
"A Great History Lesson for all ages"
History has always fascinated me and I've read everything Shelby Foote has written but this book puts the last days of the war between the states into an incredible time line. Masterfully told, full of interesting trivia, I wish this was required reading in high school.
"Painful"
A friend recommended this book but apparently we have different taste. This book was a poorly written painfully simplistic version of Lord of the Rings. I kept hoping it would get better but it didn't! I would rather drag my fingernails across a chalk board than ever listen to this poorly written comic book.
"Sorry"
I'm a Vietnam veteran and I see another leader that graduated in the "top of the bottom 20%." Visiting the battle ground was interesting but the rest was some much garbage.
"And miles to go before I rest"
I started the whole Lost Fleet series as I traveled across the western half of the U.S. While I wouldn't say it's Dickens, it was a captivating story the kept me awake and interested. I'm trying to broaden my reading habits and science fiction is new to me and I'd have to say I enjoyed the journey.
"This piece is not a river...but close"
Peace Like A River now falls in my 10 best books of all time so it is hard to compare. As a story teller he is great, but the message is not quite as gripping, but I still would recommend it for pure readability.
