"WORST FORMAT EVER. A WASTED CREDIT!!!"
I cannot deal with the multiple, separate chapters that take up all this space on my mp3. I can't really give an accurate review because I wasn't able to figure out what I had and hadn't listened to. I hate that I wasted a credit on a book I will never listen to.
"I LOVE it!!! An all time fave."
This book is a great account of the history of forensics in the early 1900s. Combining my two favorites, non-fiction and history, it's a wonderfully entertaining book to learn from. It is such a good book I bought it for my mom. Coleen Marlo has done an excellent job narrating, as usual. A great book to listen to over and over.
"An American accent on classic Brit novel???!!"
I could not listen for more than 5 minutes to this wonderful book being blasphemed by an American accent. It totally ruined it for me. What an insult to Oscar Wilde, one of my favorites. Thank goodness I have the book in print because I cannot bear to listen to a British classic being read in a non-Brit accent. Horrifyingly disappointing. Do not make the same mistake.
"An underestimated jewel of a book!"
This is one of the best books I've purchased from audible. I got it on a whim and was amazed at what an entertaining treasure this book is. I mean, it had such an impact on me that not only did I register as a donor when I renewed my license, I also changed my post-mortem plans of being cremated to being donated to science. Before this book I was horrified at the thought of what would happen to me after death...I cringed at the thought of discussing death. This book has really changed my outlook on the whole thing. Mary Roach is very insightful and I love the way she thinks...the dark humor is very familiar. She went above and beyond in her research, as she isn't involved in the "death industry". I'm so thankful that she decided to write this wonderful book instead of her usual books on travel. Shelly Frasier is amazing as well. Great voice and expression. I have listened to it 3 times as of 12/13/11...and will listen to it again I'm sure.
"Another great Amy Stewart book!!"
Very good book. A close second to my favorite Amy Stewart book, "Wicked Plants". Coleen Marlo does her usual awesome job of keeping my attention...and giggling to myself. Very interesting, entertaining and informative.
"Excellent read. Very informative."
I love this book. I've never been very interested in disease, but a friend suggested it since I like non-fiction and history. She was right. As with most of my favorites, this is one I can listen to again and again.
"Wonderful book. Informative and entertaining."
This is another book I can listen to over and over. Amy Stewart is one of my favorite non-fiction authors. And Coleen Marlo is one of my favorite 'readers' too...very expressive, she holds my attention through the entire book. This is a great book.
"EXCELLENT! I can listen to it over and over."
It is just so well written, informative, funny- an all time favorite for sure. I love the way it charts the periodic table of the elements and gives little insights and back stories on them. I have learned alot from and am constantly entertained by this wonderful book. No matter how many listens it never gets old.
