"Sorry Ms. Rowling, You Missed This Time"
No one I can think of. Very depressing. Glad I don't know any of these characters.
Providing well developed characters, a plot that moves a lot faster and language that actually helps develop character and plot.
Did't really have one.
Just using f--- does not make an adult novel. I understand that Ms. Rowling is trying to shake off the Harry Potter image but this book practically thumbs its nose at Harry. The characters were not well developed. They were horrible people with horrible lives. I know there are horrible people with horrible lives but not everyone in an entire town. When interviewed about the book, Rowling asked the interviewer if she cried. The only emotion I felt was disgust. Being a school librarian, I personally saw how Rowling's good writing, multi-demential characters, and a well developed plot can change people. I certainly hope these characters don't have too much influence on anyone. Ms. Rowling, you can write better than this. Please don't try so hard to be adult!
"Very involved plot"
I love historical fiction. Moving between the two time periods was a great way to weave the plot. I felt the book was overly long. So much time was spent developing the first part of the story and then at the end it was "slam, bam, thank you mam." All in all, a great story but better editing would have helped a great deal.
"Another view of Anne Boleyn."
Love the view of Anne Boleyn from her own diary. It gave me a whole new perspective of her. Yes, this is historical fiction but I had never thought that she did not have a choice in her involvement with Henry. I always thought that she must have deserved what she got. Historical fiction at it's best!
"Some like it some don't."
Obviously several people liked it from the reviews. I love historical fiction but was not impressed with this one. I bought it because of the favorable reviews. Guess my taste is different from most of the other reviewers.
No. Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres.
Loved the magistrate. Such a sad character. Did not like what happened to him.
Dissapointment.
I just did not like the resolution to the plot. I had to make myself finish the book. Once the magistrate was out of the picture, I didn't really care what happened.
"Not a typical James Patterson"
The plot. It was ridiculous. Chimpanzees, dogs, squirrels and rats in a pack hunting humans. Really?
Not much. I love James Patterson but my guess is Micharl Ledwidge must have written most of this book.
Good narration. The narration was probably the only thing that kept me listening.
Not cut but add. The chimpanzee kills the former girlfriend and then all of a sudden it's five years later. I needed to hear a little emotion.
I automatically purchase any James Patterson book. From now on I will pay more attention to the co-author.
