In her long career as America's most beloved suspense writer, Mary Higgins Clark's The Lost Years is her most astonishing and dramatic work to date. At its center is a discovery that, if authenticated, may be the most revered document in human history - the holiest of the holy - and certainly the most coveted and valuable object in the world.

    Story
If you could sum up The Lost Years in three words, what would they be?

    A good mystery.

What did you like best about this story?

The story unfolded without giving away the ending.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I find it difficult to sit long enough to listen to any book, in one sitting.

    Any additional comments?

I thought that more of the story would be related to the history of the letter, where it had been and what would be happening to it.

Dominic Cantori is an orphan. Ashamed of his situation, Dominic avoids making friends for fear of exposing his terrible secret. One day on a class trip to Ellis Island, a tour guide asks everyone about their families. Immediately, Dominic flees from the class and hides in a closet, where he falls asleep for hours.

    Story
Is there anything you would change about this book?

No. The story progresses in a logical and timely maner.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The story was fine but a bit superficial.

Did Lloyd James do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes. Intonation and speed of his speech pattern helped a great deal

Did The Orphan of Ellis Island inspire you to do anything?

    Not really.

    Any additional comments?

I would like it to play on my Sandisk, but it doesn't
