This book along with the other previous ones from Joel connect with me in so many ways. I feel more joy every morning by practicing many of the lessons, advices given. One day I decided to start listening on my commute to work every day. That was four months ago. I've made it a habit. I pray first thing in the morning then I start listening to these books over and over. I pause to meditate. I don't listen to anything else on my way to work. I've found it to help my day, expecting the best, being more prudent, etc. I started this habit because I couldn't take the stress anymore. It was affecting my health and my family life. It is much better now and I WON'T GO BACK. I feel happier.
KEEP THEM COMING JOEL!!
Yes, there's so much I learned from the entire story. The range emotions I went through with this book from joy, sadness, hate, so many others.
The power of forgiveness of a human being is capable of.
When Louis forgave the bird during B. Graham event (I still have problems even thinking about the bird and all the things he did. Don't know if I could have).
When Louis remembered that he had promised God while being a castaway.
Honestly, so many other moments. I still struggle to understand how someone can be so cruel to a fellow human being.
I still believe that the US shouldn't have pardoned war criminals for political reasons. If one of those on the committee that decided to go ahead with that padon would have gone through the pow cruelty, I'm sure they wouldn't have agreed to an amnesty.
This book raised the bar and now I'm struggling to find something similar. Any suggestions?
