Our words can have negative or positive effects on others. God "spoke" and it happened. Scripture is full of verses about the power of the tongue. Beth encourages us to pray out loud and groups some scripture into topics to help get us started. But it's really up to each of us how, when and where we pray. I had this book and ear marked the pages so I could return over and over. I eventually gave it to someone to encourage them.
A friend has given me books by Stormie which I just never seemed to get around to reading. Then I picked up this book at the library one day... and could not put it down... I rechecked it twice and had it for a total of 6 weeks. I believed that I had a good prayer life... God answers my prayers. But Stormie changed the way I think about praying in a good way! I highly recommend this book if you are interested in growing with God, knowing the heart of God, knowing your own heart.
I really enjoyed this book. It made me think about a lot more than food in my life. Lysa mentions several different things in life that can have a hold on us, things that we wouldn't even consider a "craving". I love the thought that "I am not fat even though my body may be". Our body is the container for our spirit like a glass holding water or a pretty box holding a present! The important part of us is the inside yet we spend so much time focused on the outside. Balance in life is focusing on the inside but not neglecting the outside.
