"lively and fun"
this was my first for this author and I found it to be lively and fun.
"I was transported to Alaska"
A good listen and captivating story. The rural characters were well described. The reader has a sexy voice.
"Great book, poor reader"
This is a wonderful story and the bonus is that it is unabridged. But the reader is really poor, you can't tell the difference between characters, even male and female is not discernible. Really ruins a perfect love stpry.
"the music"
The story and reading of the story by the three readers was fabulous. However, I did NOT like the music. I did not like her voice, the music, the words or the volume. I was excited to hear the music because Jodi Picoult herself asked us to hear the music and to put the context into the stoory, but I had to fast forward through the songs ultimately.
"The reader failed"
This narrator was lovely when speaking for women but terrible on male voices. It really affected the quality of the listen.
"Very well done"
I could not stop listening to this... It was like watching a train wreck and I was there until the dust settled.
"One of her first books"
I was sorry I did not realize that this was one of Brown's first efforts. the story was predictable and trite with no plot twists that she has become famous for.
"terrible reader"
Why is this elderly person doing the narration for this book? I cannot listen to it ... Lee Reston is in her 40's and but the reader is just too old to make it believable.
The book and story are fabulous.
And HEY - why can't we get the rest of Layverly Spencer UNABRIDGED?
"Abridgement of Forgiving by LaVyrle Spencer"
The book is wonderful, but this abridgement makes the story trite and meaningless. Why would anyone abridge such an author? Every part of the original story is necessary to get the entire picture and beauty of the book. the reader is good.
