    I enjoy the TV series and was prepared to enjoy the audible book. Unfortunately I share the sentiments of other reviewers regarding the narration. It is obvious the narrator put a lot of effort into her performance but her whispery bedroom voice was too much for this listener. I had to keep adjusting the volume up and down, I finally gave up.

    I enjoyed this book although it leaned more in the direction of an educational text book... so if you're looking for action, this isn't the place but I would recommend the book to anyone interested in expanding their historical horizons. I also enjoyed the narration!

    I was not disappointed. I find Maya's life story very interesting. She is honest and insightful. She also narrates the story herself which some may find distracting, however I enjoyed hearing Maya read in her own voice. This book is one in a series.

    Robert Massie did an excellent job telling this incredible story of Catherine the Great. The narration was equally excellent. I should make a note that I was a little concerned about buying this book in audible form. I find that stories about royal families and their subjects can get a bit confusing when it comes to lineage, who did what…etc so I typically buy hardcopy books so I can refresh my memory by looking at previous chapters. I clearly didn't need to worry about that with this audible version. The story was well organized and the author takes the time to refresh the readers’ memory from time to time. I was disappointed to reach the end. Now I am going to purchase Peter the Great from the same author. I can't wait!

    To be clear, the author and narrator did a fine job.So many 4 and 5 star reviews but I couldn't get into this book. I don't disagree that Steve Jobs had a huge impact on the world as we know it today but as far as I am concerned the man shouldn't be idolized or worshipped. I hate to think that kids today look to him as a role model, because he was far from it.
