For 2,000 years a hidden conflict has been waged. Now it is bursting into the open - in a pitched battle over the very future of the planet. In the Amazon and in Africa, from oil spills to animal slaughters, the earth is being defiled, and two covert armies are locked in mortal conflict - with a woman reporter caught in the middle.

Would you try another book from David Morrell and/or David Regal?

While the book had an interesting premise, I had extreme difficulty getting past the stilted dialogue. Does the author think anyone really speaks this way? I think the narrator did what he could with the dialogue, but couldn't overcome the starched language. I would not order another book by Morrell.

When an award-winning foreign journalist reveals the existence of an Amsterdam-based sweatshop known as a "knot shop" that employs and enslaves young girls as laborers, private security firm Rutherford Risk is hired to find it and shut it down. Joined by Grace Chu, whose more subtle skills for acquiring sensitive tech information help balance his improvisational style, John Knox heads to Amsterdam in an attempt to dismantle the child labor operation and rescue the girls.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Simplistic writing - slow story development - I have enjoyed other works by Ridley Pearson, including the other John Knox story, but this was rather painful

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

    Meh

Would you be willing to try another one of Todd Haberkorn’s performances?

No - the reader was the worst part of this - Several times, I was tempted to stop listening, but Ridley Pearson's previous books were pretty interesting, so I persevered - mistake...

In broad desert daylight, a mysterious platoon of soldiers evacuates the entire population of Sunrise Valley, Nevada. Minutes later, a huge bomb detonates a hundred feet above the ground and lays waste to homes, cars, and playgrounds: a town annihilated in an instant.

I have listened to other Alex Cross books, and this one is a bit of a stretch. In this book, there are revelations made by the police Feds, CIA, etc.), that suddenly add characters without explaining where information came from. There are characters added right at the end of the story. It was hard to keep the interest in what could have been a strong plot line.
While the readers did a generally good job, there were very annoying sound effects with every chapter. All in all, not one of the better Cross efforts.
