"Worshipful To The Point Of Nauseum"
The one excelent gift the author gives us is interviews of the actual players in Katharine Hepburn's life. Family members and directors and actors lend their voices and personal accounts of time with Hepburn. By that fact alone...this book works better as an audio than a tradional page turned volume. I didn't learn anything new about Ms. Hepburn's life, here. All of the accounts of Kate were very worshipful to the point of nauseum. Wasn't amazing...just okay.
"All Young Gay Male Teens...Please Read This Book"
A great book. I wish all young gay male teens to read this. We all need someone to look up to. Well written and very humorous. Michael Urie did an amazing job reading. Very enjoyable.
"Chinese Perfection"
A nearly perfect novel. Heartbreak, sublimation, humanity. Just gorgeous. See breathes palpable and true life into her story. I will be reading her other books.
"Fun, Funky and Fresh"
The main problem I had with this book is the action/humor where not consistent. Half a dozen scenes could have been edited. With that said...this is the ONLY thing negative about this book. This book was LOADS OF FUN to read. Very funny. Drive-thru Plastic Surgery? Christian Pole-Dancing. Love it. Bray as a reader? BRILLIANT. One of the best performances I have listened to. Teens will eat this one up. Very new. Very fresh. I can't wait to see the movie.
"The PERFECT Ending"
This book I truly did not want to end. Closing the book on Lisbeth Salander was hard for me. She is truly one of literature's great heroines. The book follows a fast pace and by the time you finish the roller-coaster ride you'll be very satisfied.
Truly great.
"The Perfect Bridge"
Outstanding sequel and second book in trilogy. I found myself not wanting this book to end. If you like suspense and action...this book is for you.
"The Perfect Escape"
Everything I could post about this book will have been posted before. Let me just say that YES...the book is graphic...but not unnecessarily so. The heroine has to endure these things for us to want to love her so. She is one of the greatest characters in contemporary literature. The hype? The book...this series CAN back it up. Reader is perfection.
"It Could Happen..."
I was very surprised to have enjoyed this book as much as I did. Very entertaining. The writer has a definite style which is engaging. The few days I was listening to this I went around asking others if they believed in vamps (half jokingly). Parts of this novel were VERY real. He got his facts correct and melded them well with the vampire world. The only reservation I had was half way through the book tended to drag with not enough action. S. G-S's Pride and...Zombies had MUCH more action. Reader, very good.
"Strong Moral Questions Contained Within"
As perfect as a novel can get. Very short...but fervid with the hard questions we sometimes don't think of asking ourselves. "Why am I on this earth?" "What led me to this point?" Very modern in construction but a period piece. The most memorable characters in literature. The reader...not great. I LOVE Sam Waterston but his reading is very quiet, very breathy and emphysemaed. Perhaps previous he was kicked in the chest by a mule?

"Loving Portrait of a Woman Who Partied"
This book was outstanding. I knew very little about Emma's life...but after listening I felt like a guest at one of her fetes. The only negative element (if any) could have been the biographer's gushing of her subject. It NEVER, however, got to the point of cloying. The reader was sumptuous in her deliver. Pitch perfect. This book made me want to listen to other books about Nelson and their friends and the way they lived their lives. Think Marie-Antoinette with less money and Emma got to keep her head!
"American Perfection"
This book is my favorite book of all time. I consider it the perfect American novel. With that said, this performance/reading of GWTW is flawless. Linda Stephens doesn't try to recreate the characters...but puts you in mind of faces you grew to know from the film version. Her pacing, infection and care are all brilliant. The novel contains MUCH more information and characters from the Civil War that was depicted in film version. I read this book ever summer as I do War and Peace every winter. Thank you audible for finally making this great novel available. This book should be listened to by all. Complete and utter immersion.
