This is the first-half of the end of the Ender Speaker series. Great narration combined with a great story.
Mitnick deserves much respect for what he can accomplish and can be reviled for his brazen break ins. He claims no damages for the chaos he would wreak upon his marks. He does get what he deserved.
Great book. Great narration.
I recommend this for the performance alone. The story is a long winding King book. As usual it's a fun story with many side-bars that seem excessive but help build the characters.
Once again we have great narration to a good story. Yeah, the ending is a cliff hanger. So what? It keeps us hungry for the next which I hope is just as tasty as this.
It wasn't great. It wasn't horrible. It was somewhere in between. The narrator has a dry presentation, though he does go for a few accents to differentiate the characters which I appreciated. The story seemed to be a fast-slow-fast pace. I hoped for more computer "geek" in the story. As a 30-year IT professional there are some pretty big holes here. I had to keep telling myself; the author is not in my line of work.
All geeks born in the 1970's MUST read this book. It moves right along and covers all the best of the 80's geek culture.
The final book concludes the riveting story. Throughout it all you wonder what this girl is thinking but its still believable. The narrator is great. I highly recommend all three books of the Hunger Games.
Book Two with the same great narrator. The story continues with more twists and turns.
The first of the trilogy got me hooked. The story moves right along but you often wonder "what is she thinking?!" about the heroine.
The narrator does a decent job. I like him reading other works too. But the material is mediocre. It reads like a Hollywood sci-fi with predictability and lacking much suspense or tension. For my one-credit per month I think I could have skipped this and checked it out from the library as some summer-fluff reading instead.
A dark story, well written and well read. A good one for those interested in post-apocalyptic stories.
