"Worst story ever."
not likely
Move it along a little faster
I didn't find any
Too much detail. I love unabridged books but this was agonizingly slow and painful.
"Narrator sucks"
I like the story but the narrator does not accurately portray the characters. His sing song delivery of dialog doesn't match the intent and detracts from the book.

"Pretty good story"
Yes
Yes, there were exciting segments where you didn't want to stop until that threat/challenge was resolved.
yes because the main perp was never apprehended
"WHERE'S THE STORY?"
I did not find a compelling story line. There was no character development and I was lost. Not my type of story.
"DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME"
I'm an avid audible listener and can usually get into anything. Not so with this book. I kept waiting for the author to grab me and focus my attention on something interesting. I went 1 hour 17 min before giving up. When I have nothing left to listen to, I might return and see if this book has any value added. As of now, it doesn't!!
"ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING"
This was BC at his best. I never wanted this book to end. It was an incredible story rich with Korean War detail.
"Excellent"
I have become a great fan of BC and his narrator Humphrey Bower. Jessica was not as good as The Power of One but better than Matthew Flinder's Cat. I was fully immersed in this book and laughed/cried in places as he makes the characters come alive. This book is definitely worth the price of a credit.
"Outstanding"
I have been an audible customer for years and listened to hundreds of books. None touched me like this one. This is my first Courtenay book and I've since bought up all his books. The narrator is wonderful in bringing the characters to life. I didn't want the story to end. In fact, I hope these's a sequel in the works.
"Absolutely Awesome!!"
I have read just about every book Stephen King has written. I began the DT series in the early 70's, never imagining the roller coaster I had jumped upon. I think this is King's best work. He ties up the loose ends and brings finality to almost everything. If you read his other books, you will appreciate how he has woven the DT into them.
The ending is perfect. It could be an end, continuation, or new beginning. I'm torn between wanting it to end and dreading the thought of not having the incredible Roland in my life any longer.
I think I may listen to the series again!
"Adequate"
This book could only be described as adequate. I found it confusing with the jumping from past to present. I wondered if I was listening to two love stories or a legal review of this case. Most stories about the legal system are plausible. This case seemed so fraught with legal errors and investigative oversights that I can't imagine it could happen. Ending was very predictable. I think I'll stick with John Grisham.
