Incredibly annoying recitation of the author (2 times at the beginning of each part) along with the theater company and names of all the cast and characters at the beginning of each part. And then a repeat of the ending of the last part. Annoying sound effects (screaming and yelling). Too many narrators, switching from voice to voice constantly. What were they thinking?
It had moments, but one had to wade through much tedium to get to them.

It was a very good story, but the ending dragged on to such ridiculous stuff, it was very offputting. Don't think I ever bothered getting to the end.

Dragged a lot in the beginning. Lots of repetition of what it would be like to live in the Alzheiner's mind. Got much better as the plot finally came into focus.

A mish mosh of characters, very descriptive of the period, almost no plot. The kind of book one can stop listening to at any time, and wouldn't really care.

Unless you are interested in the history of the scientific research this is pretty boring. I am stunned that it's average rating is so high.

I had been one of those "tolerance of religious freedom" types.
Since listening to this book, I've learned that the Islamic suppression of women, vengeful violence, and intolerance is simply backwards. This is a terrible religion!

Ayaan Hirsi Ali is an incredible woman with multi-cultural experience, and this is a must read!
