I would recommend this book to epic fantasy fans. It has a solid story line and a fresh vantagepoint that kept me listening without being so deep that I wanted to re-wind. Reader was a definite plus to the experience and she made it easy to keep track of characters.
Funny Witty Engaging
Strangely enough this book (series) reminds me of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. There is a strong cast of characters with strengths and weaknesses and personalities that have you connecting with them right away.
It may take a chapter or three to get used to such a new and different paranormal world, the authors have their own twist on Shifters and Vampires. Completely worth the read! (and for those of you wondering.... Yes to romance but it's not the center of the plot and I'd describe it as adult but rated PG).
The new characters that have been introduced in the last book or two flow so well with our favorite existing characters that it doesn't feel like a side story tacked on to extend the series. I can't wait to find out
It got me as hooked as the beginning of the series. If I could give it 10 stars I would!
(Comparable to Ward ... hmmm ... no one really. But since I love it when people recommend other series ... Nalini Singh - Psy-Changeling Series. No vampires, but she also does a really great story line, the world is part fantasy/part world you know with great characters, and still gets you going with some hot romance!)
I love the Blay, Quinn, Layla, Saxton storyline. But after the last book, I was about to give up.... now I am pulled back in again - hook, line and sinker ... I can't wait to hear what happens next!!
If you like the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series and are wondering if you will like this one too.... Yes! The series can be stand alone but if you've read BDB you will be way ahead, as the stories run parallel and have some minor interwoven characters. Though I can't say this series has the same erotic pull of BDB quite yet - it's still well worth the credit.
