  • Firefly Cloak

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 15 mins)
    • By Sheri Reynolds
    • Narrated By Jenna Lamia
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Eight-year-old Tessa Lee and her little brother, Travis, are left at a campground by their mother and her boyfriend, a crooked-nosed man named Goose. All the two children have is a tent, their bags of clothes, the firefly cloak they'd used for covers the night before, and a phone number printed in magic marker on Travis' back. Tessa Lee knows that her momma and Goose have skedaddled in a car with recently changed license plates. She just doesn't know why.

    "A Great Listen!"

This is the 3rd book I have listened to with Jenna Lamia as the narrator. Her voice truly brings out the best in a book. A fantastic book.

  • Devil of the Highlands

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 50 mins)
    • By Lynsay Sands
    • Narrated By Marianna Palka
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

They call him the Devil.... He is the most notorious laird of Scotland: fierce, cold, deadly...and maybe even worse. Yet Evelinde has just agreed to wed him. Anything, she thinks, is better than her cruel stepmother. Though Evelinde should be wary of the rumors, she can't help but be drawn to this warrior...for the Devil of the Highlands inspires a heat within her that is unlike anything she has ever known.

    "Worst Narration Ever!"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I have listened to almost 300 audible books, and this was the worst narration of them all! It was too hard to get beyond it to find any merit in the story.

What could Lynsay Sands have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

It was hard to tell if the book was good or not because the narrator was that bad.

What didn???t you like about Marianna Palka???s performance?

    So horribly bland and blase.

    Any additional comments?

I was just so surprised that the poor narration of this book was ok'd by the author and publisher. Would love to know what the thought process was in that.

    "Took Me Away"

This love story totally took me away! I couldn't get enough of listening to it. It made me laugh and cry and always wanting more. I hated to see it end. The narrarator was perfect for this story and brought out every emotion.

Lily Owens has shaped her entire life around one devastating memory - the day her mother was killed. When she and her "stand-in-mother," a fierce-hearted black woman named Rosaleen, are taken in by an eccentric trio of black beekeeping sisters, Lily enters a secret world of bees and honey, and of the Black Madonna who presides over this household of strong, wise women.

    "What a Great Read!!"

This book was fabulous. The author captured all the emotions and allowed you to truly be a part of them. The narration by Jenna Lamia was excellent. I don't think I would have enjoyed the book nearly as much had I read it. Highly recommend this book to everyone!
