This author appears to have a distain for men and anyone from the south. Her imitation of southern accents is demeaning to southerners. She has a selfish disregard for others I was frequently disgusted with her degrading portrail of others. I did finish the book but would not strongly recommend it to others.

I liked the book but was not always impressed with the author. I would recommend it for kids and adults.

I do not see how it can be rated any higher than 1 or 2 stars. It was so boring and repetitious that I had to take the ear phones off just to get away from the book. I finished it because I regreted spending my money on it. It is safe for kids.

I liked the characters in the book and enjoyed the humor of the author. It is a good book for young people who would find the antics of the characters quite amusing. There was no profanity that I remember.

The book had good character descriptions. The plot was interesting but sometimes felt contrived. The ending was good. The emotions of the characters were well developed but sometimes not realistic. He seemed to be playing up to the alternative life style at times. Otherwise, it was as decent read. I would not recommend it for everyone.

The characters were well developed. The plot was easy to follow. The suspense was expertly built and adroitly relieved with good endings. The book had one of the best finishes that I have seen in some time. I highly recommend this book for adults and young people alike.

The author was able to tell the story in an organized and understandable fashion. It is a little predictable due to the nature of the story but it kept my interest and it was easy listening. I am older but recommend it to those who are tired of negative, destructive and stressfilled books. I liked it and recommend it to others. It was relaxing. It had a good ending.

The book is technically well written and the author has much talent that should be commended. But, in his preface, the author states that he does not believe in God. Why did he have to say that? It had nothing to do with the likeability of the book. The book included too many graphic descriptions of sexual acts that were there only for the purpose of tittilating and arousing the reader. I would not recommend it as advisable reading for minors. Some people may like the book for the its excessive sexual content which detracts from the excellent historical research the author has done to write the book. This is one person's opinion. Others are welcome to theirs. He is not a Godly man.

The book was a good listen. The characters held my interest. The plot was not tedious as might have happened. The idea that a town would resort to these measures to survive is hilarious. It made me smile and even occasionally laugh out loud...something I do not normally do. I liked the book and thought it was good but not great. I recommend it to others for satisfying reading.
