"Frightening"
Richard Preston has done it again. This book is scarier than Hot Zone by a longshot. Great Book and great narration! Out of five stars? I really would give it 10
"Bought on a whim"
Great book! Bought this book on whim, and m so glad that I did! This book has changed the way I look at both food, and the industrial food machine. Some may find the science book style a little difficult, but I enjoy it, and it is well worth it. That said, I did have to go back and re-listen to a chapter or two to make sure I understood what was being said.
The narrator is perfect - his delivery is not dry or boring, and he keeps you engaged with the reading.
All in all, definite 5 star book
"So glad I gave this a second try"
When I first tried to listen to this book the murdered family at the very beginning really bothered me, and I just couldn't get into it. I read a few more of Neil Gaiman's book and decided to give this one another chance. So glad that I did, this is a very good book.
I really hated to see it end and wanted to follow Nobody on more adventures and learning experiences.
"My "GO TO" on a bad day"
Samuel L Jackson
the expression of just pure desperation of trying to get a small child to just lay down and go to sleep
Samuel L Jackson has one of those voices that just emotes whatever he is saying, you don't even need to see his face to feel the emotion
The eternal conflict of parent and child
This is on my iPod and my iPad, I carry it with me always. If I am having a bad day, I can take a few minutes listen to this and have no choice but to laugh and remember there are much more frustrating things than what I am dealing with at the time. Love it!!!
"Wow - I have been missing a great series"
This was a REALLY good book, I would put it in the top five without a doubt
Loved Harry Dresden - especially when things weren't quite going his way
Surprisingly - Murphy. His portrayal of her was great.
Laughed at quite a few parts - loved Harry trying to have a day off - could identify completely!! Not so much the werewolves making out in the living room, but the total cluster of the day was very funny!
For not having read any of the Dresden books previously, this was a great sampler of the stories and characters. Will be starting with book one and check out the series. Especially liked seeing that James Marsters is reading the whole set of books, I like that. His voice is great and he gave each character their own unique personality.
"Great Book - Great Narration"
nostalgic fantasy escapism
Hard to do - this was such a unique book
Absolutely Wade! Even though I have enjoyed everything Wil Wheaton has narrated to date, NO ONE could have brought Wade to life like he did. Perfect choice of narrator!
When Wade and Samantha finally met in person. It was a wonderful moment in the book.
This is by far one of the best books I have read in ages. I cannot rave enough about it. The nostalgic references, the gaming references, it is almost like a warm and fuzzy memory book, that just makes you feel good.
"LOVED IT"
This is a great book! I cannot imagine anyone else narrating, Fisher Stevens is fantastic!!! I have not 'read' Dirty Jobs yet but it has moved to the top of the wish list after this one.
"Very pleased"
Got this one after Lose Weight Now - I have suddenly noticed that I have not been 'grazing' all day like I normally would be. I am very happy I got this one as well.
"I was skeptical at first......."
I figured if nothing else it would be helpful for going to sleep at night. But this has proven to be working. I have suddenly noticed at different times that I have not been 'grazing' all day like I normally would be. Or I have not been having something before bed. I have no problem with heavy accents, or different pronunciations of words, so that part did not bother me like it has other reviews. All in all, I am very happy I got this one.
"What a Hoot!"
What an absolutely great character!! She is a total hoot, and such a fabulous inspiration for the middle aged woman. You forget that she is really Tyler Perry. This is a great book and I cannot imagine reading this book over listening to it.
"Love this book"
I have read this series twice, had to get the audio when I saw Stephen Fry was narrator. Third time is a total charm, what a great person to have read this book.
