Really enjoyed this latest edition to the series. A little different from the prior books. A little less action, replaced by more suspense. More depth to some of the characters. Can't wait for the next book.

The reading for Ray really brings Joe Ledger and crew to life. Can't imagine any other voices doing these characters.

Would make a great movie series or even a good TV show if done right (Fringe quality).

Wow. This is not only the best book in the series but it is one of the best books I have read in a year.

It was non stop suspense and action. I couldn't stop listening. I don't want to say more, otherwise I will spill key plot points.

The reading by Ray Porter was amazing as always. This reading should be award winning.

Looking forward to the next book.

For 25 years, civilization has survived in meager enclaves, guarded against a plague of the dead. Temple wanders this blighted landscape, keeping to herself and keeping her demons inside her heart. She can’t remember a time before the zombies, but she does remember an old man who took her in and the younger brother she cared for until the tragedy that set her off on her personal journey toward redemption.

This Zombie story really is different from all the others I have read. The book has a feeling of optimism throughout as you see the country rebuilding.

Yes the book has an bad guy throughout but it felt really different. It wasn't some crazy person trying to take over the world for no reason with a bunch of dumb followers. This bad guy had a goal and I could sympathize with him.

I really enjoyed all of the characters. The performance was outstanding. Could not have been a better voice for the characters.

Wish the book was longer. I would love to read a follow-up book about the same "world".

Patrick Cusimano’s life can’t get much worse. His father is in jail, he works the midnight shift at a grubby convenience store, and his brother’s girlfriend, Caro, has pushed their friendship to an uncomfortable new level. On top of all that, he can’t shake the attentions of Layla Elshere, a goth teenager who befriends Patrick for reasons he doesn’t understand, and doesn’t fully trust. The temptations these two women offer are pushing Patrick to his breaking point. Kelly Braffet has written a novel of unnerving power - darkly compelling, compulsively addictive, and shockingly honest.

A story about very screwed up people doing a lot of really screwed up things.

From cutting to statutory rape to drinking blood. A story about horrible people doing dumb and bad things. I never really found any point to the story.

Well read, that is about it.

I really didn't like the first 1/4 of the book. I thought it was slow and I couldn't figure out the plot. As the book went on it really got much better. Really enjoyed the characters and story. Well read.

Cynical, quick-on-the-trigger Takeshi Kovacs, the ex-U.N. envoy turned private eye, has changed careers, and bodies, once more, trading sleuthing for soldiering as a warrior-for-hire and helping a far-flung planet's government put down a bloody revolution.

I rated the 1st book as being ok and decided to try the 2nd book based on reviews, since I did like the concepts of this futuristic world. This 2nd book was horrible. I couldn't follow the story and had a hard time connecting to any characters. Almost no action compared to the 1st book.

Judas Coyne is a collector of the macabre. But nothing he possesses is as unlikely or as dreadful as his latest discovery, a thing so terrible-strange, Jude can't help but reach for his wallet. For a thousand dollars, Jude will become the proud owner of a dead man's suit, said to be haunted by a restless spirit. But what UPS delivers to his door in a black heart-shaped box is no imaginary or metaphorical ghost. It's the real thing.

I liked the other Joe Hill books, but I couldn't get through this one.

Between the really bad music between chapters and the ultra slow talking narration, I couldn't finish this book. Didn't like anything about the main character. I ended up listening at 2x speed just because the book was being read so slowly.

Victoria McQueen has an uncanny knack for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. When she rides her bicycle over the rickety old covered bridge in the woods near her house, she always emerges in the places she needs to be. Vic doesn't tell anyone about her unusual ability, because she knows no one will believe her. She has trouble understanding it herself.

Really a great story. Holds up against any Stephen King story. A bad guy that is just as creepy and evil as Pennywise the Clown. Cops that are actually smart and do what you would expect from cops. Really liked all of the characters. Everything was original and well thought out. I think he could do a great prequel story as a 2nd chapter.

Great reading also. Lots of emotion. Brings the story to life (and death). One of the best readings since the Joe Ledger series. I expect this reading to win awards.

This is the story of Michael Talbot, his family, and his friends: a band of ordinary people trying to get by in extraordinary times. When disaster strikes, Mike, a self-proclaimed survivalist, does his best to ensure the safety and security of those he cares for. Book one of the Zombie Fallout Trilogy follows our lead character at his self-deprecating, sarcastic best. What he encounters along the way leads him down a long dark road, always skirting the edge of insanity.

The story was pretty boring as far as Zombie books go and the toilet humor was non stop. Didn't smile once. The attempt at being a zombie comedy was relentless and just not well done. Won't be reading the rest of the series.

Thought the narrator didn't have a voice that matched an ex-marine.

In the 25th century, humankind has spread throughout the galaxy, monitored by the watchful eye of the U.N. While divisions in race, religion, and class still exist, advances in technology have redefined life itself. Now, assuming one can afford the expensive procedure, a person's consciousness can be stored in a cortical stack at the base of the brain and easily downloaded into a new body (or "sleeve") making death nothing more than a minor blip on a screen.

    Story

Overall I liked all of the characters and the future world the author created, but the story fell short. At times I felt like the story was confusing due to the way it sometimes would make a very disjointed jump in the plot.

The Todd McLaren's reading fell short when it came to female characters. You could not tell when he was reading a male or female voice, which also caused some confusion.

I may read future books in the series, but they are not top on my list.
