  • Let's Pretend This Never Happened (A Mostly True Memoir)

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 41 mins)
    • By Jenny Lawson
    • Narrated By Jenny Lawson

For fans of Tina Fey and David Sedaris - Internet star Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, makes her literary debut. Jenny Lawson realized that the most mortifying moments of our lives - the ones we'd like to pretend never happened - are in fact the ones that define us. In Let's Pretend This Never Happened, Lawson takes readers on a hilarious journey recalling her bizarre upbringing in rural Texas, her devastatingly awkward high school years, and her relationship with her long-suffering husband, Victor.

    D. S. Smith says: "How the Bloggess almost made me crash my car!"
"I wish I had used my credit for something else."

What I really wanted to say is "do not waste your time on this book". I'm sorry to the author, but this book is absolute gibberish about not much of anything. It may be her life and what has happened so far--she sounds very young so I hope it gets better for her--but she is a type A, anxious, insecure person who should not be in front of a microphone. Save your points---I purchased it on a referral from someone here at Audible when I asked for a 'light, funny read". I only got about 1/3 through and had to stop ---it was giving me a headache the way she babbles on, and on, and on.........

  • The Fiery Cross

    • UNABRIDGED (55 hrs and 34 mins)
    • By Diana Gabaldon
    • Narrated By Davina Porter

The year is 1771. Claire Randall is still an outlander, out of place and out of time. But now she is linked by love to her only anchor: Jamie Fraser. They have crossed oceans and centuries to build a life together in North Carolina. But tensions, both ancient and recent, threaten members of their clan. Knowing that his wife has the gift of prophecy, James must believe Claire, though he would prefer not to. Claire has shared a dreadful truth: there will, without a doubt, be a war.

    Dawn says: "THANK YOU!!!"

Thank you so much! As all the others have said I have patiently waited for this arrival. I could not bear to even think about listening to an abridged version---let alone NOT Davina Porter!!?? Diana, you are a remarkable writer. I have been lost and now found that this is available. I drive 1.5 hrs to work and this keeps me going. (I also can not believe that it is only one credit) Thank you Audible.

  • Room: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 52 mins)
    • By Emma Donoghue
    • Narrated By Michal Friedman, Ellen Archer, Robert Petkoff, and others
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

To five-year-old Jack, Room is the entire world. It is where he was born and grew up; it's where he lives with his Ma. Room is home to Jack, but to Ma, it is the prison where Old Nick has held her captive for seven years. Through determination, ingenuity, and fierce motherly love, Ma has created a life for Jack. But she knows it's not enough...not for her or for him. She devises a bold escape plan, but what she does not realize is just how unprepared she is for the plan to actually work.

Kathleen says: "A truly memorable read"
    "Well Done"

While it does take a bit to get used to the Jack's voice as the narrator (the child), I don't think it would have come across as it did with 'Ma' telling the story. I enjoyed the book, although as a mother I doubt that I could have done what she did, but then again thank God I have never been in that type of situation. Very good listen. I had a hard time putting it down.

  • Crush It!: Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion

    • UNABRIDGED (3 hrs and 40 mins)
    • By Gary Vaynerchuk
    • Narrated By Gary Vaynerchuk

Do you have a hobby you wish you could indulge in all day? An obsession that keeps you up at night? Now is the perfect time to take that passion and make a living doing what you love. In Crush It! Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion, Gary Vaynerchuk shows you how to use the power of the Internet to turn your real interests into real businesses.

    Martin says: "Gary delivers!"
    "Wow--a Great book!"

I listened to this book last night and then again with notebook in hand and I am slammed with inspiration to not only get going but more importantly with real tools to do it! With so many of these 'types' of books (and I have listened to MANY) there is a 'link' to then buy the actual how-to's to recreate what the author is trying to get across. Gary GIVES you hard and fast info, lessons, advise and a thump on the head to DO IT. He doesn't sugar coat anything! Straight from the get-go he tells it like it is---have patience and 'hustle' your butt if you truly have a passion and want to make it your life-'work'. Great resources! This book has it all and/or tells you where to find info to get started NOW. I thought maybe it wouldn't have so much being the length it is but don't be fooled--get this book!
