Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

If it is meant for teenagers and young adults, then I certainly must be a least young at heart. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The comments about the narrator by other reviewers, I think are unfounded. I found her voice pleasant and enjoyable and I have listened to a lot of books. Going to get the next one in the series.

First time I listened to a Tom Clancy book. I found it very long and my mind kept wandering while I listened to it. I like Clancy's stories but wonder how I ever had the patience to read one of his books.

Ken Follett's World Without End was a global phenomenon, a work of grand historical sweep beloved by millions of readers and acclaimed by critics. Fall of Giants is his magnificent new historical epic. The first novel in The Century Trilogy, it follows the fates of five interrelated families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they move through the world-shaking dramas of the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for women's suffrage.

Keith says: "Ken Follett and John Lee / Audible's Dream Team"
    "Good listen. Great Narrator"
    Overall

Not quite as good as Pillars of the Earth but very enjoyable. I read Pillars so possibly I wasn't as distracted. I think Ken Follett is a master in his research and this is a great way to get a history lesson too.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

When this book started out, I did not think I was going to like but it is well worth the listen. The narrator was great and made the book come alive. I doubt I would have enjoyed it as much without the narrative.
