I started reading this series before I had audible and couldn't put it down. Now I don't have to because I can listen to it, and that makes me incredibly happy.
I've always enjoyed watching Ellen's show, but this adds an extra layer of insight into who she is. She inspires me, makes me laugh, and makes me wish I had more friends like her.
I first heard of this on PBS watching the documentary version of the book. Then I borrowed the audio book from the library and after listening decided that I needed to own this. It is a very inspirational telling of women's issues in other countries. I learned a lot about issues I thought I knew about, but it turned out I knew nothing at all about, and it has moved me to try to find a way to support women in other countries to move toward equality and fair treatment. Hopefully it will inspire you as well and if you have the resources, move you to change the lives of so many women that desperately need it.
I picked this book up because I've recently been watching a lot of 30 Rock and I find Tina Fey very funny and entertaining. The book was not a disappointment. In fact it brought me the joking, but still insightful words of wisdom that I was hoping to find in it. Having it read to me by Tina herself only added to the effect of her words because I got to hear them delivered as she intended them to be rather than how I would read them on my own. I would have listened to it straight through, but I had to do silly little things like work. You should buy this and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and will again shortly.
I found this book entertaining, although obviously written for younger readers than myself. It has left me intrigued and looking forward to listening to the series.
