Forty-eight hours after Alexandra Cooper arrives in France to visit her boyfriend, the famed restaurateur Luc Rouget, her vacation in paradise is cut short when a young woman from the village is found murdered. The only evidence discovered on the body is one of Luc’s matchboxes promoting his new restaurant in New York. But before the investigation begins, Alex is summoned back to New York to handle a high profile case. Mohammed Gil-Darsin, the distinguished and wealthy Head of the World Economic Bureau, has been arrested and accused of attacking a maid in his hotel.

Patrick Taylor’s devoted readers and listeners know Doctor Fingal Flahertie O’Reilly as a pugnacious general practitioner in the quaint Irish village of Ballybucklebo. Now Taylor turns back the clock to give us a portrait of the young Fingal - and show us the pivotal events that shaped the man he would become. In the 1930s, fresh from a stint in the Royal Navy Reserve, and against the wishes of his disapproving father, Fingal O’Reilly goes to Dublin to study medicine.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I certainly would recommend this book as I have become quite the fan of Fingal O'Reilly and the crew of Ballybucklebo. The community sounds very charming and quite believable.

What does John Keating bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I enjoy listening to the Irish accent.

In Lisa Gardner’s first-ever short story following thirteen bestselling novels, The 7th Month takes listeners between the books and into a day in the life of Boston Detective D. D. Warren. In her seventh month of pregnancy, D.D. should be taking it easy. Instead, she accepts a small consulting role on the set of a serial killer film shooting in Boston.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

This book seems to tell you how to commit a murder so I would not recommend it quickly to my friends.
