Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock - with secrets he can't tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn't be less interested in him. But what begins as a dare becomes an intense attraction neither Ryan nor Beth expected. Suddenly, the boy with the flawless image risks his dreams - and his life - for the girl he loves, and the girl who won't let anyone get too close is daring herself to want it all....

Okay first let me say that TECHNICALLY this is book 2...audible hasn't linked them but it is, Pushing the Limits was book 1...BUT....this is a fine stand alone read, I should know because I didn't read book 1 and other than a few references I wasn't lost.

Secondly...this IS a young adult novel...emphasis on adult. If the "F" bomb is not to your liking AVOID this book! But if you are looking for some graphic steamy romance in a step by step how to manual format...well this is not the book for you either! It is a romance, but it is PG-13, not R, or X!

I don't think the blurb does it justice so let me just say golden boy meets girl from the wrong side of the tracks...he lifts her out of her self made heck hole...and she brings him down from being perfect. Beth has a good heart, but she did not win the parent lottery, she loves her mom, but will that love in turn get her killed? Ryan has known his whole life that he wants to play baseball at the pro level...that is until Beth came along and made him question what it is that HE wants...will these two be able to get on the same page...or will this be just another chapter in their lives.

This story was really nice...one of my biggest pet peeves in books is when the writer makes up drama for the sake of drama...and that didn't happen here. These "kids" have some tough issues they deal with....bad upbringings, police involvement, estranged family members, friends that want to be more than friends, homophobic parents, small town mentalities, and above all is it possible to love someone too much.

Great read, highly recommend it...but while it will interest you, it won't keep you on the edge of your seat. Is it worth $20??? Well...probably not, but for sure credit worthy!

Theron - Dark haired, duty bound and deceptively deadly. He's the leader of the Argonauts, an elite group of guardians that defends the immortal realm from threats of the Underworld. From the moment he walked into the club, Casey knew this guy was different. Men like that just didn't exist in real life - silky shoulder-length hair, chest impossibly broad, and a predatory manner that just screamed dark and dangerous. He was looking for something. Her. She was the one. She had the mark. Casey had to die so his kind could live, and it was Theron's duty to bring her in. But even as a 200-year-old descendent of Hercules, he wasn't strong enough to resist....

I really like this series, hence my 3 reviews back-to-back...I wanted to make sure it wasn't a one hit wonder before I shared my views.

I wasn't too thrilled with this story line but it was done well. I don't live contrived drama in a book and this whole plot was based on a misunderstanding from 10 years past...which is just weird, but like I said it was done well once everyone involved really understood the misunderstanding from 10 years ago.

    Still a keeper!

This is book 3 in a really good series set in modern times but with a tie to the Greek Myths..we even get to see Hades! This is Princess Isadora meets her match with the ultimate bad boy Demetrius. From reading book 2 I NEVER saw these two getting together, but now I understand why it all happened that way.

I don't want to give anything away, let's just say I'm liking the series...it's in my top 5 series.

In the wake of a brutal war, the archangel Raphael and his hunter consort, Elena, are dealing with the treacherously shifting tides of archangelic politics and the people of a battered but not broken city. The last thing their city needs is more death, especially a death that bears the eerie signature of an insane enemy archangel who cannot - should not - be walking the streets.

First and foremost, this ties for the best series EVER with Black Dagger Brotherhood of course! BUT...this book left me a bit flat. I don't know why, I guess it came across more as a psy changling book than a guild hunter book....all the players where there but they didn't gel exactly like they have in previous novels, it almost felt like a short, even though it was 12 hours long.

Very sad that is wasn't 22 hours long like the pre-order stated, but still wonderful to visit the world of the Guild Hunters...but I think I just wanted to hear more from Raphael and Ellena. If you are a fan of the series it is a must have, but for the first time this series has let me down.

Still worth downloading every book though, and the narration was wonderful as always!!!

Sassy, smart, and sexy, former supermodel-turned-tech guru Rubi Russo has it all-looks, money, confidence and freedom. Her life is a whirlwind of fast cars and fleeting affairs - and she likes it that way. With a past like Rubi's, forever isn't part of her vocabulary. So when studly renegade stuntman Wes Lawson wants to take their friendship to the next level, she's all out. it's just a matter of crushing her fears, shattering her barriers, and convincing her that loving him is everything she's been missing in her life, too...Piece of cake.

So, I really don't like the sickly sweet insta-love books that follow a family or group of people, for example the Sullivans novels. There is nothing wrong with them, they are sweet, and funny, and everyone gets their HEA...but to me they are boring. I like a bit of edge in my romance books and this series is delivering that for sure!

This is the story of Wes and Ruby. Ruby was brought up as a neglected rich girl who has daddy issues, but hey, she earned them. Ruby also grew up with an armor around her heart because NO ONE will get close enough to hurt her, and she makes sure of that because she doesn't "DO" relationships...she picks out a guy, screws him once and moves on. See, everyone is happy!

Enter Wes, he is part of the Renegades crew and he has had his eye on Ruby for a long time, he became her friend, and now he wants more....but Ruby doesn't know how to do "more". Can she put aside her childhood hang ups for the chance at happiness ? Can Wes get over dating the simple sweet girl and try and win the hard shelled Ruby?

This book was fun to read, and I fully expect to keep on with the series. It has just enough SASS to keep me entertained and the hot scenes are yummy yummy!

A couture wedding dress designer to the rich and famous, Lexi LaCroix's image means everything. Raised on the wrong side of the tracks, her years of polish and hard work are finally about to pay off. But crossing paths with a sexier-than-sin, bad-boy biker who makes her realize how much living she's sacrificed for her success, one touch is all it takes for Lexi to turn reckless. Jax Chamberlin has been screwed over by gorgeous gold-diggers one too many times. Though he runs his own stunt company, all of America knows his Hollywood face even years after he's given up acting.

I got this book on sale, but I would have paid full price. What a delightful escape!

The Renegades are a group of men who are stunt men for movies, led by Jax the owner of Renegades. They work high end stunts for the Hollywood movies, and of course they are all gorgeous bad a$$es!

Enter Lexie, she is overwhelmed by life, trying to make it on her own from her dirt poor roots to what she is today, a fashion designer for the rich and famous. She doesn't have time for relationships...she is thinking about taking a page out of her friends play book and trying for a one night stand when she meets Jax.

Jax has been screwed over in every which way you can think of by a woman. He has lost jobs, lost friends, and basically lost respect for himself on why he keeps being duped by these women. He has just sworn off women for a while when he receives a text from a mysterious woman who makes him smile. She's trying to stay anonymous, and he can't stop thinking of her.

Overall I found the writing to be H-O-T, fast paced, and with minimal drama. I really did like this book a lot, and am already listening to the second story of these wandering Renegade men ;-)

Narrator was really good too, the men sound yummy yummy!!!

What would you give up for everything? Tristan Stone was powerful, commanding, and sex incarnate. And he wore it all so well. From the moment his mesmerizing gaze met mine, I had no choice but surrender to everything he was. His power. His decadence. His passion. He was all I never knew I needed. He wanted to possess me, and I wanted to be his everything. All I had to do was accept what he offered. But everything has a price.

I think I have learned my lessons on trilogies. I am now going to listen to the whole thing before I write the review of book 1, hence my weird rating.

This book was great, it had twists, it was hot, it was believable...and then the massive cliffhanger and poof contrived drama that is so ridiculous I can't even do it justice.

In book one they meet they fall, they become each others world then Tristan drops a metaphoric bomb and Nina has to leave...then she gets into a crash and it wipes away her memory...how freaking convenient! Then they work through some things and poof even with the previous information she starts hunting him...and that's where book 2 leaves us...which is beyond any soap opera plot.

These books went from plausible to totally ridiculous, I will not be getting the third, wished I never got the first!

While reading this book I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop...but it never did. I really enjoyed the book while I was listening to it but then when it ended I was kind of like...um...and? This is book 1 of a series but it is like the Sullivan books where it focuses on a different couple every new book with glimpses of former book stars.

The narration was great, I REALLY likes the narrator, I just wish the book had some more meat.

The premise of the leading lady being a photographer and the leading man thinking her early morning stroll had something to do with him and the movies he was in 5 years ago had some real promise. As you get into the nitty gritty these two were explosive, and then they were tepid, and then the book ended leaving me with a feeling that I had been robbed of a decent storyline. There were so many eluded to things...his anger...her insecurities...her man not liking she photographed other men...oh it was getting good...and then everything was glossed over in rainbows and unicorns and it was all happily ever after.

I think I want my money back.

This was a nice distraction from my normal read...we have a hot guy who is destined to be chief of his clan, and we have an opinionated strong woman who is ticking all the men in her clan off because she won't act like a "proper" lady, she acts like a shrew...skinning them alive with her tongue!

I found this book to be light, and charming, but with some real substance that I found very fun to listen to. And the accents....wow...swoon!

I would get this book again in a heart beat :-)

Iris Scanlon, Half-Moon Hollow's only daytime vampire concierge, knows more about the undead than she'd like. Running all their daylight errands - from letting in the plumber to picking up some chilled O neg - gives her a look at the not-so-glamorous side of vampire life. Her rules are strict; relationships with vamps are strictly business, not friendship - and certainly not anything else. But then she finds her newest client, Cal, poisoned on his kitchen floor, and only Iris can help.

When you are tired of intense books, or tired of people finding their mates and just poof living happily ever after in a book where everything just seems to magically work out for everyone I HIGHLY recommend you pick up a Molly Harper Book where nothing works out the way you think it will and you will laugh until you cry and smile while you listen.

Some people don't want to get into these books because they think it's just another vampire series, they could not be further from the truth! In this book our human leading lady Iris owns a company who provides a special service...see ever since the vampires where outed by a lawsuit in the late 90's the general population has just had to accept that they really do exist. Part of that acceptance is creating sparkling fang toothpaste, Fo-type O (a fake blood replacement), and even vampire protection kits...all of which are available at the local Wal-Mart....nope not kidding! Iris's business is providing daytime services to the un-dead, for a nominal fee of course! She picks up donor blood, get's their pets groomed, cleans their house for the company they are having tonight and is just a personal assistant to the un-dead...but to be honest they kind of creep her out! She tries very hard never to meet any of them on purpose and never after dark.

That is until she goes to a new clients house and accidentally trips over his poisoned body on the floor. Oh she is SOOO not happy about being near the un-dead especially when the man asks for her help, for a sizable fee he needs her to take him home with her so he can figure out who tried to kill him. Waiting at home is her 17 year old sister, her mouthy opinionated, sneaky snarky sister...oh this is going to go well! It also doesn't hurt that the vampire is H-O-T!

The snarky jabs and jibes are hilarious, and I can't recommend these books and the narrator enough! Whenever I need a pick-me-up I turn to Molly Harper, she never disappoints! Put all her books in your wish list so audible can tell you when they go on sale, but to be honest I would pay full price for this slice of uncomplicated heaven.
