I feel I have to give this book 4 stars and not 5 because Thoughtless is the only 5 in this series, but any other series this book would have been a 5...you just started too good SC! I feel like I know Kiera and Kellan...much like I knew Anna and Christian, but unlike 50, this was a story I could see happening....small town girl follows a guy cross country and then falls for the dreamy rock God...I think this kind of story has actually happened, which makes it charming.
I don't condone cheating, but I understand the concept of finding your other half and no matter how moral you want to be about it what can you really do when that happens?
The series was amazing, this book cleaned up the loose ending on everyone who was practically ever mentioned in the series...and it wrapped it up nicely.
If you read the other 2...even if you didn't like number 2 that well, this is a must read.
So, I really don't like the sickly sweet insta-love books that follow a family or group of people, for example the Sullivans novels. There is nothing wrong with them, they are sweet, and funny, and everyone gets their HEA...but to me they are boring. I like a bit of edge in my romance books and this series is delivering that for sure!
This is the story of Wes and Ruby. Ruby was brought up as a neglected rich girl who has daddy issues, but hey, she earned them. Ruby also grew up with an armor around her heart because NO ONE will get close enough to hurt her, and she makes sure of that because she doesn't "DO" relationships...she picks out a guy, screws him once and moves on. See, everyone is happy!
Enter Wes, he is part of the Renegades crew and he has had his eye on Ruby for a long time, he became her friend, and now he wants more....but Ruby doesn't know how to do "more". Can she put aside her childhood hang ups for the chance at happiness ? Can Wes get over dating the simple sweet girl and try and win the hard shelled Ruby?
This book was fun to read, and I fully expect to keep on with the series. It has just enough SASS to keep me entertained and the hot scenes are yummy yummy!
I got this book on sale, but I would have paid full price. What a delightful escape!
The Renegades are a group of men who are stunt men for movies, led by Jax the owner of Renegades. They work high end stunts for the Hollywood movies, and of course they are all gorgeous bad a$$es!
Enter Lexie, she is overwhelmed by life, trying to make it on her own from her dirt poor roots to what she is today, a fashion designer for the rich and famous. She doesn't have time for relationships...she is thinking about taking a page out of her friends play book and trying for a one night stand when she meets Jax.
Jax has been screwed over in every which way you can think of by a woman. He has lost jobs, lost friends, and basically lost respect for himself on why he keeps being duped by these women. He has just sworn off women for a while when he receives a text from a mysterious woman who makes him smile. She's trying to stay anonymous, and he can't stop thinking of her.
Overall I found the writing to be H-O-T, fast paced, and with minimal drama. I really did like this book a lot, and am already listening to the second story of these wandering Renegade men ;-)
Narrator was really good too, the men sound yummy yummy!!!
I think I have learned my lessons on trilogies. I am now going to listen to the whole thing before I write the review of book 1, hence my weird rating.
This book was great, it had twists, it was hot, it was believable...and then the massive cliffhanger and poof contrived drama that is so ridiculous I can't even do it justice.
In book one they meet they fall, they become each others world then Tristan drops a metaphoric bomb and Nina has to leave...then she gets into a crash and it wipes away her memory...how freaking convenient! Then they work through some things and poof even with the previous information she starts hunting him...and that's where book 2 leaves us...which is beyond any soap opera plot.
These books went from plausible to totally ridiculous, I will not be getting the third, wished I never got the first!
While reading this book I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop...but it never did. I really enjoyed the book while I was listening to it but then when it ended I was kind of like...um...and? This is book 1 of a series but it is like the Sullivan books where it focuses on a different couple every new book with glimpses of former book stars.
The narration was great, I REALLY likes the narrator, I just wish the book had some more meat.
The premise of the leading lady being a photographer and the leading man thinking her early morning stroll had something to do with him and the movies he was in 5 years ago had some real promise. As you get into the nitty gritty these two were explosive, and then they were tepid, and then the book ended leaving me with a feeling that I had been robbed of a decent storyline. There were so many eluded to things...his anger...her insecurities...her man not liking she photographed other men...oh it was getting good...and then everything was glossed over in rainbows and unicorns and it was all happily ever after.
I think I want my money back.
This was a nice distraction from my normal read...we have a hot guy who is destined to be chief of his clan, and we have an opinionated strong woman who is ticking all the men in her clan off because she won't act like a "proper" lady, she acts like a shrew...skinning them alive with her tongue!
I found this book to be light, and charming, but with some real substance that I found very fun to listen to. And the accents....wow...swoon!
I would get this book again in a heart beat :-)
When you are tired of intense books, or tired of people finding their mates and just poof living happily ever after in a book where everything just seems to magically work out for everyone I HIGHLY recommend you pick up a Molly Harper Book where nothing works out the way you think it will and you will laugh until you cry and smile while you listen.
Some people don't want to get into these books because they think it's just another vampire series, they could not be further from the truth! In this book our human leading lady Iris owns a company who provides a special service...see ever since the vampires where outed by a lawsuit in the late 90's the general population has just had to accept that they really do exist. Part of that acceptance is creating sparkling fang toothpaste, Fo-type O (a fake blood replacement), and even vampire protection kits...all of which are available at the local Wal-Mart....nope not kidding! Iris's business is providing daytime services to the un-dead, for a nominal fee of course! She picks up donor blood, get's their pets groomed, cleans their house for the company they are having tonight and is just a personal assistant to the un-dead...but to be honest they kind of creep her out! She tries very hard never to meet any of them on purpose and never after dark.
That is until she goes to a new clients house and accidentally trips over his poisoned body on the floor. Oh she is SOOO not happy about being near the un-dead especially when the man asks for her help, for a sizable fee he needs her to take him home with her so he can figure out who tried to kill him. Waiting at home is her 17 year old sister, her mouthy opinionated, sneaky snarky sister...oh this is going to go well! It also doesn't hurt that the vampire is H-O-T!
The snarky jabs and jibes are hilarious, and I can't recommend these books and the narrator enough! Whenever I need a pick-me-up I turn to Molly Harper, she never disappoints! Put all her books in your wish list so audible can tell you when they go on sale, but to be honest I would pay full price for this slice of uncomplicated heaven.
This is book 2 in the series and the cliffhanger from book 1 had me downloading this ASAP! We pick up where book 1 left off and our leading lady has made it back to the states and is trying to figure out her career...which she does. Meanwhile her handsome mystery man searches for her, unbeknownst to her.
This book has it's ups and downs, it's sweet moments and it's moment where I just want to turn off my phone and yell at these characters for being monumentally stupid...but then I want to cry because they want the same thing but their lives won't let it happen...or will it?
Good follow up book, the characters even felt more real in this sequel and I want to find out what happens in book 3 but to be honest I'm exhausted by these two at the moment so I think I'll take a break...which the lack of a cliffhanger allows me to :-)
The narrators are still the same...I could be imagining it but I think the southern twang has become a bit better, but overall I'm still disappointed by the woman's version of the mens voices and I'm really disappointing in the man's version of both genders. The women sound like they are drugged up and the man voices...gesh...adjust the speed or something I swear it sounds like he is reporting a horse race not a love scene!
Overall, still recommended.
This book takes place in Australia...there is both a male and a female narrator and they take turns doing the male and female POV. Both do an excellent Australian Accent, they may actually be Australian, but the leading lady is an American with a southern twang and GESH...*shudder* worst accent EVER! I seriously almost didn't get past chapter one, but I was intrigued with the story enough to get through it...and I'm glad I did.
The story was pretty good, and original, so that was a nice change. Multimillionaire winery owner doesn't do the relationship thing. In the past relationships have been horrible, women trying to trick him for his money and overall it has damaged him from ever wanting anything but sex from a woman. He picks out a random stranger and offers her a deal...no real names, have a 3 week relationship with me, then never contact me again...and during those 3 weeks I'll make you feel like a princess. Surprisingly women go along with this.
Enter our leading lady, she doesn't know what to do with her life so when her best friend said "I'm going to spend the winter with my brother in Australia and you should come and stay for free, I'll even buy your plane ticket"...well how could a girl refuse? She meets the mystery man on her first night in town and things get steamy, very steamy for the next 3 months rather than 3 weeks...there is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end which prompted me to buy book 2 right away, but overall these 2 are a bit on the intense side, and it is a love story with lots of steam. I would recommend this book if you want a love story and can get past the HORRIBLE narration.
Okay, I miss Dragos and the Griffins, that has got to be why I didn't fall in love with this book. This one doesn't even touch on NY or Dragos for more than 30 seconds just to say the main character went to the games in NY and it was fun..poof that was it, just a brief second to connect with the fan favorites of the Weir domain.
This story takes place in the Night kind Domain, the Vampire Domain, and it was a decent story, just not all enrapturing like the Weir Domain stories. In this story we hear from the Gin and the vampires mostly, and we got to hear more about Julian, which was good because he seemed really shady in other books due to all his interactions with Carling...anyway....If you like the Elder races you will like the book and revisiting this wonderful world of Mrs. Harrison, but think of it as a short story rather than the next novel in the series so you won't be disappointed.
If you haven't started this series just drop what you are doing and go download the first book...no seriously go now!
This has got to be one of the most highly rated series on Audible, and it is well deserved! This is a world full of vampires, protectors, hero's...and none of it is cheesy, and none of it is what you think it will be. These books are written for adults, and boy oh boy are they awesome!
This is the story of the french Immortal Lizette, and Zach the um...let's call him Seth's long lost cousin. I had to give this book 4 stars because it took a bit of head bashing for the truth to come out that I knew in chapter one and to be honest Mrs. Duvall doesn't usually play with us like that...but a 4 for an immortal guardian book is like a 7 for a normal run of the mill book.
The narrator was wonderful, as usual, and everyone has their own voice and the men sound like men...and some swoon worthy accents too! Yummy yummy!
If you are a fan of the series this book is required listening because we hear about all of our old friends...Rolland is still anti-social, although Zach could give him a run for his money on that one....Marcus is still over protective, David is still cool as ice and someone is having naughty dreams about Sheldon...oh and want to know what happens with Amy and her pregnancy......dum...dum....dummmmmmmmmmm Read on!
