This is a charming account of modern day Chinese life, warts and all. Great reading for young and old. This should be required in schools. You can't go wrong with this one for yourself or as a gift.

Creole Belle begins where the last book in the Dave Robicheaux series, The Glass Rainbow, ended. Dave is in a recovery unit in New Orleans, where a Creole girl named Tee Jolie Melton visits him and leaves him an iPod with the country blues song “Creole Belle” on it. Then she disappears. Dave becomes obsessed with the song and the memory of Tee Jolie and goes in search of her sister, who later turns up inside a block of ice floating in the Gulf.

What disappointed you about Creole Belle?

I usually LOVE Burke Books (Jesus Out To Sea) but this one was full of torture. Really turned me off.

Would you ever listen to anything by James Lee Burke again?

Absolutely. I love everything else of his I have read.

What about Will Patton’s performance did you like?

The voice sounds like an aging Cajun. Very appropriate.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Just couldn't get past the gore. Unnecessary suffering.

    Any additional comments?

Read Jesus Out to Sea. One of the best collections of short stories I have ever read.

More than a million listeners have thrilled to Bill O'Reilly's Killing Lincoln, the can't-stop-listening work of nonfiction about the shocking assassination that changed the course of American history. Now the anchor of The O'Reilly Factor recounts in gripping detail the brutal murder of John Fitzgerald Kennedy—and how a sequence of gunshots on a Dallas afternoon not only killed a beloved president but also sent the nation into the cataclysmic division of the Vietnam War and its culture-changing aftermath.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Brings back memories for my generation and teaches younger people about Civil Rights Movement, Cuban Missile Crisis and so much more.

What other book might you compare Killing Kennedy to and why?

    Killing Lincoln is even better.

Have you listened to any of Bill O'Reilly’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    He is an excellent reader.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Those who do not learn from History are doomed to repeat it.

I loved the movie so much I thought I wouldn't need to read the book. But I was wrong. The book is just different enough to make it very interesting. The characters are fascinating. Excellent book. Loved every minute of it.

Thomas Bulfinch introduces us to the gods of the Greek, Roman, and Norse mythologies. We learn their stories and we also observe the similarities between the deities of yore. Comparing these stories and characters to those of some modern religions may produce some surprising results!

I don't know what the narrator was thinking. She rushes through each story barely breathing. Must have had a time limit.

I was really surprised to find that Louis was a great husband and a very decent human being. I became fascinated by other characters in the book such as his young granddaughter-in-law. This is a wonderful book for people who appreciate excellent research and strong characters who really lived. Just loved it!

Greece, home of the ancient Olympic Games, is a favourite destination for Seven Sights Travel, a seedy company which provides escorted tours for wealthy travellers. When Marcus Didius Falco and Helena hear that a young girl and a newly-wed woman, both Roman visitors, have been murdered at Olympia, they both step in to investigate.

If you loved "I, Claudius", you will love this. Although set 2000 years ago, it reminds me of my recent trip to the same area. Also, I love the British accents for Roman characters a la "Claudius." A fun read for history and mystery readers and for those planning a trip to Italy and Greece.
