"Nice Cover, Nice Story, Nice Trip"
I've visited Florida, as a European at an age of about 25. It's now 15 years ago. The images come back: The enormous amounts of mosquito's in the everglades the damp heat and the threat of crocodiles, the weird feeling of nature versus human (or should I say American spirit) and my feeling of displacement there.
The story has a very realistic feel. I really love the narrator, I can see this astonished New York girl stomp through the swamp -Listen to HER say swomp- in her clean white shorts and sometimes be so very sweet in her astonishment. It's so honest. To me it was like a trip back, this time WITH well researched and well told background information AND guided by a lovely? girlfriend ? daughter?. Great!
"straightforward info I just needed"
Yes it has al the beginner information you need to no about a shaman.
She is also the shaman
"finally the good old vance stories"
this is a class of its own, I used to read them when I was young, and loved to be in his colorful and real other worlds.
No I haven't, but its well read
"A little Gem"
A wonderful well written and well read story, adding a new dimension to magic, the magic world of children and a parent observing.
"The reading wears me out"
The reader lacks to enter energy in his reading. The dark full voice dies away in every sentence and after an hour or so its just to much. Arjuna!... Is there no light in this book? I very much think so, but for me it needs another reader.
"Good stories"
Once you figured out there are four stories or so its a great book full of fantasy imagination and strong beautifull woman.
"very inspiring material to start writeing anything"
Although the sound quality is not the best Thomas Moore tells in a very relaxed way about writing. It gives room for your own inspiration
"great answers on simple questions"
I am so impressed with the carefull and respectfull answers the people get to their dear and heartfelt questions.
"Bo... ring"
Her is a guy telling he is NOT going to tell you how to live and then starts doing just that. Maybe I am wrong because I didn't get to the end and the miracle is happening somewhere in the middle but I feel misled by the reviews and the publisher's summary and was very disappointed.
"Whalespeak"
The speaker in the book is so in awe of the information he is passing on to us that he sometimes uses "whalespeak". The Rabbi is a good storyteller though, and I enjoyed listening and also the meditations. The storyteller has given me knew insights on old matters.
Don't meditate while driving in the car I would say.
