Don't let negative comments about the narration turn you away from this book. While I agree with the comments about the strange narration, which became particularly noticable in Part 2, I am soooo glad I listened to this book. Great story!
The narrator Jenna Lamia has done a spectacular job! Every voice and character so beautifully read. I felt as if I knew them all. Beth Hoffman has written a novel I will listen to again and again. There are so many emotional moments of clarity and beauty I cannot list them all. If you are looking for a wonderful, touching and memorable book, THIS IS IT!
If you wonder why the world will always be at war, all you have to do is listen to this book. Yes, the Holocaust was one of the great human trajedies of our time. Is it justification for every violent act of retaliation? No. Is it grounds for Restitution? No.
Behind every great fortune lies a great crime? The author doesn't even see the hypocrisy of the whole premise of his book.
I thoroughly dislike the narrator. His female voices are simpering and annoying. Sorry, I have nothing good to say about this book. I forgot I had listened to a previous novel by this author and was so sorry I wasted my money on supporting the Jewish rationalization of their continued violence.
The world has lines which must be crossed no matter how uncomfortable. This is a story of triumph over fear. I loved the characters and now the book has ended, I miss them already!
I loved this book. So thought provoking and you instantly care about the characters. I listened to it twice to absorb all the beautiful details and observations about life. A definite read!
I'm a huge Janet Evanovich fan and have read all her books but was really disappointed in "15". What happened to Lula and Tank's engagement? When is the plot going to move on? The relationships are still the same. Joe or Ranger, Ranger or Joe? Stephanie still doing the same old thing. I was hoping for a little progression in the story line.
I love the characters in Linda's books. The stories always wrap up too quickly and with too many details of the mystery in the last few pages. Fairstein's books are full of wonderful and interesting trivia. Barbara Rosenblat's narration is, as always, first rate.
