It was just another after-work happy-hour bar downtown, where business professionals unwound with a few drinks, complained about the boss, maybe hooked up with someone for the night. Until something went terribly wrong. At first it was just a friction in the air. The noise intensified. The crowd seemed oppressive. Some sharp words were exchanged, some pushing and shoving. Then the madness descended. And after 12 minutes of chaos and violence, 80 people lay dead.

Once again Robb comes up with an intriguing case for Eve and her side kick Peabody.
I like the dramatic nature of this case.

I still think Robb needs another constant character to add some "zing". I wouldn't want to become board with the characters. There have been many books so far which have been good but something is missing.

    Still would spend the credit.

When Amaliya harnessed her necromancer powers to defeat her greatest enemy, she believed she had finally found a happy ending with Cian, her lover and the master of Austin. That happiness is short-lived when the vampire ruling over San Antonio attempts a takeover of Austin in order to capture Amaliya and use her power for his own devices.

I really enjoyed the first book. I can't seem to put my finger on what went wrong with this one.

Perhaps dry narrator....not much of a mystery...Seems rushed without much content.
I had trouble staying interested. I went to several different books before I finely finished it.

I guess it might be worth a listen. I wouldn't use a credit tho. Maybe BOGO or a sale.

To start, I love Ms King. She is great. Has feeling and enjoys what she reads.

As for the story. Good mystery, has an array of supernatural beings. Including a new one at lest for me. As the series progresses I'm sure we will get some romance which will make this even better.

Suggest buying ASAP even if you don't have credits!!! Great read!!

Wayward Pines, Idaho, is quintessential small-town America — or so it seems. Secret Service agent Ethan Burke arrives in search of two missing federal agents, yet soon is facing much more than he bargained for. After a violent accident lands him in the hospital, Ethan comes to with no ID and no cell phone. The medical staff seems friendly enough, but something feels…off. As the days pass, Ethan’s investigation into his colleagues’ disappearance turns up more questions than answers. Why can’t he make contact with his family in the outside world? Why doesn’t anyone believe he is who he says he is? And what’s the purpose of the electrified fences encircling the town? Are they keeping the residents in? Or something else out? Each step toward the truth takes Ethan further from the world he knows, until he must face the horrifying possibility that he may never leave Wayward Pines alive…

Interesting concept here about time and where humans will be in the future. A bit confusing at times but that is part of the mystery I guess.
This is hard to review without giving away info. Seems a bit anticlimactic. I was thinking there would be something more perhaps something scary.

Suggest getting on sale. Save a credit.

The first book in a series!! Love it. It's written from a dogs point of view. I Being a dog and cat lover can understand and find many laughs in this book. Plus a crime to solve.
Chet is a big dog that helps Bernie solve crimes in there PI business.
Mr Quinn has a great understanding of dogs. He is able to put into words what we as human believe dogs are thinking.

Mr Frangione is great as always. I find a giggle everytime he says "perp"!!!

    Just listen you will like!
