    Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

    A Must Listen! Amazingly, the author wrote it without one cliché, and each adverb and adjective needs to be respectfully absorbed and assimilated. And JEREMY NORTHEM, best narrator yet! Beautiful English voice with perfect timing and inflection.

    I could listen to this book again and again...

    Adrian McKinty was born in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland. He studied politics and philosophy at Oxford before moving to America in the early 1990s. Living first in Harlem, he found employment as a construction worker, barman, and bookstore clerk. In 2000 he moved to Denver to become a high school English teacher and it was there that he began writing fiction.

    Would you try another book from Adrian McKinty and/or Gerard Doyle?

    Probably not


    What could Adrian McKinty have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    The narrative performance was delivered charmingly, however the book was a little too formula. Likewise, the climax took ions to reach.


    What does Gerard Doyle bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    His lilting Irish voice brought realism to the set.


    If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    Perhaps if Michael Fastbender played Sean.

    What made the experience of listening to Quiet the most enjoyable?

    This book was fascinating, and a comfort to anyone who's an introvert. There are so many moments when I needed to either go home “early”, or just be alone to think, and the book clarified these feelings and removed all guilt for those “anti-social” behaviors. I loved it and feel a better person for it!


    What aspect of Kathe Mazur’s performance would you have changed?

    Perhaps in this instance, an extrovert reader would have made it even more enthralling ;-), but Mazur had a lovely voice.

    Why we think it’s a great listen: If you’ve ever loved a dog - or even patted a dog - this book, told from the perspective of man’s best friend, will tug at your heartstrings...and won’t let go until long after Welch performs the last word. Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: a philosopher with a nearly human soul (and an obsession with opposable thumbs), he has educated himself by watching television extensively and by listening very closely to the words of his master.

    What disappointed you about The Art of Racing in the Rain?

    Made it more than two-thirds way through and the book still didn’t snatch my attention. I’m a canine lover, but I found all the doggy nuggets of wisdom slightly corny. I know I’m a minority, because I ordered The Art of Racing the Rain based on its reviews, and even though it may offer a touching finale, I’d rather use my precious audiobook time on more worthy selections.

    When Randy Pausch, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon, was asked to give such a lecture, he didn't have to imagine it as his last, since he had recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer.     Where does The Last Lecture rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    This was not a maudlin story about a dying man; rather it was an admirable, uplifting expose of Randy Pausch’s last few months on earth. Almost exclusively he dedicated his amusing commentary to recognizing what’s important in our lives… family, honor, and having a purpose for being. He definitely left an impact on me and I'll never forget him.
