Max McLean brings his compelling voice and artistic narrative skills to the ESV Bible. This Gold Medallion-winning new translation combines a word-for-word translation approach with a literary beauty that is perfect for the oral expression of God's Word.

    Overall

This is a very good narration of the Bible. Max McLean is a wonderful reader. Only problem I had is that no matter how it is load onto the player, it will not play the books in correct order. It is very distracting to have to search for the next book.

In the aftermath of the brutal murder of his father, a mysterious woman, Kahlan Amnell, appears in Richard Cypher's forest sanctuary seeking help...and more. His world, his very beliefs, are shattered when ancient debts come due with thundering violence.

In their darkest hour, hunted relentlessly, tormented by treachery and loss, Kahlan calls upon Richard to reach beyond his sword - to invoke within himself something more noble. Neither knows that the rules of battle have just changed...or that their time has run out.

I was very excited about this series on audio, what a disappointment. The reader has no depth, all the characters sound the same. Hard to listen to.
