Then an unforeseen obligation forces the happy couple apart. Feeling lonely, confused, and in need of comfort, Kiera turns to an unexpected source - a local rock star named Kellan Kyle. I was bored to tears trying to listen to this book. The narrator I am sure did her best with the story but it was repetitive and just went on and on with no true end in sight. I have to admit that I gave up on reading it close to the end. I just could not take it any more. I will not be reading the other books in the series. Don't waste your credit on this one.

This story although short will really have you examining your life your faith and your humanity. If you have ever lost someone or battled illiness this book will inspire you in ways you wouldn't even imagine. Loved ever heartbreaking moment of it.

Throughout these books, Follett has followed the fortunes of five intertwined families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they make their way through the twentieth century. Now they come to one of the most tumultuous eras of all: the enormous social, political, and economic turmoil of the 1960s through the 1980s, from civil rights, assassinations, mass political movements and Vietnam to the Berlin Wall, the Cuban Missile Crisis, presidential impeachment, revolution - and rock and roll.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....
