No one liked CC de Poitiers - certainly none of the residents of the village of Three Pines, each of whom CC had managed to offend. Therein lies the challenge for the Inspector Armand Gamache of the Sûreté du Quebec, called in once again from Montreal to investigate murder in this hamlet. CC has been killed in an apparent electrical accident, and everyone in town has a motive, even the inspector's good friends.

What made the experience of listening to A Fatal Grace the most enjoyable?

Louise Penny is a genius at story telling. Somehow she is able to weave humor into a book about murder and it is done with her marvelous characters. She is part of a team however and Ralph Cosham the artist that tells the story is the best I have encountered. I am sorry I have listened to all of her books. Maybe I will listen again.

What other book might you compare A Fatal Grace to and why?

All of her books are a joy

Which character ??? as performed by Ralph Cosham ??? was your favorite?

    Ruth

Shadows are falling on the usually festive Christmas season for Chief Inspector Armand Gamache. When Gamache receives a message from Myrna Landers that a longtime friend has failed to arrive for Christmas in the village of Three Pines, he welcomes the chance to get away from the city. Gamache soon discovers the missing woman was once one of the most famous people not just in North America, but in the world, and now goes unrecognized by virtually everyone. As events come to a head, Gamache is drawn ever deeper into the world of Three Pines.

Louise Penny and Ralph Cosham took me to Three Pines and I didn't want to leave. They are artists that painted a picture and I stepped into the story. I can't say enough. These are by far my favorites. Please write another soon!

The new Audible site allowed me to pay for and download this title for a second time. The older version would notify you that you already had the title in your library. This is disappointing.

No outsiders are ever admitted to the monastery of Saint-Gilbert-Entre-les-Loups, hidden deep in the wilderness of Quebec, where two dozen cloistered monks live in peace and prayer. They grow vegetables, they tend chickens, they make chocolate. And they sing. Ironically, for a community that has taken a vow of silence, the monks have become world-famous for their glorious voices, raised in ancient chants whose effect on both singer and listener is so profound it is known as “the beautiful mystery.”

I cannot stop listening to the Louise Penny mysteries! The combination of humor, seriousness and a good story is unmatched by any author in my opinon. Additionally the narrator is the best, translating the story perfectly. When is her next book due. I have listened to them all and cannot wait.

When college kids hiking near an abandoned military industrial complex in West Virginia mysteriously disappear, special agent Janet Carter - earnest, honest, and fed up with the stifling chauvinistic environment at the Roanoke FBI headquarters - is called in to investigate. Unfortunately, there are no leads - it's as if the three just vanished into thin air.

This is a new author for me. I am already a Dick Hill fan. I was reasonably pleased with the book. I am a big Louise Penny, Lee Child fan and am looking for a new adventure
