In The Menace from Earth, Robert A. Heinlein, a master of science fiction, presents startling stories of time and space. On the day past tomorrow, time has ended and man has begun his endless journey out into the universe. For those on the Pluto colony, Earth Satellite Base holds the only possible reprieve from a terrifying death sentence. Meanwhile on Earth, alien intelligence prowls the skies, kidnapping people for its own inhuman amusement.

I love Heinline stories, read them as a kid. I read this book eons ago and since I'm an Audible junky I purchased this one. I like the reader's voice but there's a lot of microphone hiss ssssssss ssssss sssss - it's like squeaks @ a basketball game (I guess I'm neurotic when it comes to repetitive noises). I re-downloaded and there's still ssss sss s. I've tried all sorts of EQ settings but the hiss just gets bassier. So a warning to fellow neurotics - sssssssssss

For years, Mitch Rapp's bold actions have saved the lives of countless Americans. His battles for peace and freedom have made him a hero to many, and an enemy to countless more. In the tangled, duplicitous world of espionage, there are those, even among America's allies, who want to see Mitch Rapp eliminated. They have decided the time has come.

I'm no critic. I have listened to over 30 audiobooks and this is my first review. This was my first Flynn book & I just couldn't stop listening. I was immediately engaged - the imagery was captivating. Character development was excellent - I felt like I knew the characters, loved their interaction and even started anticipating their next moves. The narration is excellent. The only down side was when I finished the story I wanted more - so on to Act of Treason!
