Annabelle Flynn is the sister of London's two biggest libertines, and her reaction has been to become the picture of purity. But the sensual nature of her family has not been lost on her, and she is troubled by urges she dare not follow. She ignores the demands of her body and instead throws herself into two different activities. One is pursuing a proper marriage in society and the other is trying to save her broken brother by following him into the shocking Donville Masquerade, part of a hell run by the mysterious Marcus Rivers.

Story: Excellent! Predictable, more or less implausible and rather too much angst from the hero. But totally excellent anyway! I realllly truly enjoyed this book!

Narrator: Also excellent, her voice is soft but not whispery. I find there is nothing negative to say, just very very good.

Heat Factor: Fire extinguisher please! (yes, scorching)

Ambrosia Tisdale is the very picture of propriety and the epitome of what a respectable young lady should be. Haunted by a memory and compelled by her family, she pursues perfection to a fault. The Earl of Bristol, Duncan Maddox, has returned to London after years of familial-imposed exile. As the second son, he has led a life filled with frivolity, leisure, and a healthy dose of debauchery. Now, his older brother has died, leaving the family's flailing legacy in Duncan's unwilling arms.

I don’t really know why but it took a few tries to get into this narration... but then the story blossomed! Most excellent narration... not much steam. Creditworthy it is!
    Now on to book two!

Deborah Woodly agreed to a pretend engagement with Reeve, Earl of Cambridge, because his straitlaced uncle wouldn’t let him touch his inheritance before his 26th birthday. Not unless he contracted a marriage, which would presumably “settle” him. Deb and Reeve promised not to fall in love, or marry, but to ultimately declare they wouldn’t suit. Broken promises, but also someone was trying to kill Deb.

This is an enjoyable book! I enjoyed Karen Cass narration of this intriguing tale. I often found something in the first person storytelling to be uncomfortable yet she pulled it off beautifully.

    It’s a steamy tale, eventually.
It cost less than a credit and worth each cent.

Mandy's brother Ned is in trouble. He has been accused of murdering the woman who had been clearly trying to seduce him. Their guardian, the Duke of Margate, is summoned to help. Mandy had always assumed he was an old man. But, the duke was far from old. He was, in fact, virile, dashing, and oh so good looking. The duke enjoyed being a confirmed bachelor…and then he met Mandy. But, first things first - they had to prove Ned innocent.

Can not rate what one can not hear. The in a barrel tone is too painful, add the slight tunnel echo and the awkward phrasing and I cannot stand it!!!! Not even to finish the first chapter. Someone please let me know if this is ever re-recorded!

At the age of 25, confirmed spinster Isabella Peregrine is given an unexpected ultimatum by her new step-mother: find a husband or I'll find one for you. Thoroughly in a tizz, Isabella proposes a marriage of convenience to the nearest male to her - who just so happens to be the brooding, intimidating Duke of Blackmore. This sweet and clean regency romance is a standalone novel with a guaranteed HEA.

Totally worth all five stars! This interestingly engaging romance was completely enjoyable. Even more importantly is the quality of the performance so expertly and exceptionally performed by one of the most talented narrators! Stevie Zimmerman is so good that just seeing her name as narrator makes a book a sure bet!

    Totally creditworthy!!!!!

When Lord Greene wagers his daughter's hand in marriage in a card game, no one is less surprised the woman herself. The only thing that shocks Olive is that the man that he has gambled her away to is none other than the Duke of Ruin. Rumors abound that the Sixth Duke of Everleigh callously murdered his late wife and killed her lover in a duel - and now Olive is to become his bride. Ruan Ashford took one look at Olive Greene and knew that he had to have her in his bed. There's only one problem - his new wife despises him.

I’m enjoying this story but am about to give it up. The female narrator yells her performance and it hurts my ears. The male narrator has a deep yummy sort of voice that I could listen to all day. I’m just not sure I can listen to the overly loud, exaggerated exclamation and ear piercing voice of the woman narrator. Nails on chalkboard should not be a style!

Gil Truman has eyes only for the beautiful Tilly - until he is forced to marry plain, sickly Rose Davenport to reclaim the lands his father foolishly gambled away. After a disastrous wedding night tainted with his bitterness, he deposits Rose at his remote, Northumbrian estate, soothing his guilt with the thought that she need never lay eyes on him again. Five years after the mortifying wedding night that destroyed all her romantic fantasies, Rose is fed up with hearing second - and third - hand reports of Gil's philandering ways. She is no longer the shy, homely girl he left behind.

He stated quite bluntly--and much to Isabella's relief--that theirs would be a marriage in name only. But neither Harry nor Isabella was aware of the other's disguise, contrived in vain to thwart the impending nuptials. Isabella was not the selfish ice princess she seemed, nor was Harry a mincing dandy but rather a merry profligate.

She (the narrator) actually states at the very end of the audio “reading by ....” not performance by. Perhaps it is the most polite way to say it, after all nothing ruins a good book like a poor “reading”.
If this book was not included in the romance package I would NEVER have bought it or even attempted listening to it. The painful stilted performance full of mispronounced phrases and a choppy cadence are usually just too much! This was one of those few that was such good book that the “reading “ didn’t seem as bad as this narrator usually is.

Lady Georgina Hawthorne has worked tirelessly to seal her place as the Incomparable for her debut season. At her first London ball, she hopes to snag the attention of an earl. With money and business connections, but without impeccable bloodlines, Colin McCrae is invited everywhere but accepted nowhere. When he first encounters the fashionable Lady Georgina, he's irritated by his attraction to a woman who concerns herself only with status and appearance.

....Just use the worse “narrator “ out there. Easily the biggest mistake a author can make is NOT listening to a narrators previous works before hiring them. I just don’t understand why this woman is in this business, it is SO awful that I have learned to pass on any book she has narrated. This one was in the romance package so it cost me nothing more to give it a try. I won’t be finishing it, it’s impossible to follow. Choppy stilted over pronounced and mispronounced is the norm for this gals work.

    NOT creditworthy!

Lord Guy Carlton, late of His Majesty’s regiment and weary from the war in France, has only wine, women, and song in mind when he rents Number 67 Clarges Street. He certainly has no desire for a serious attachment! Then his merry eyes spot the lovely but very proper Miss Esther Jones. Though Esther’s business acumen has made her one of the richest women in England, her innocence could make her a victim of the wild ways of the ton - unless the downstairs staff at Clarges Street devise a campaign to reform the rake who is laying siege to her heart.

I would say it’s creditworthy but......
