I Loved it!

It was a very realistic story with Roxanne (main character) struggling between being the highly successful entrepreneur and succumbing and admitting that she may possibly have fallen 'in love' with a man she has only just met. My least favorite part of the story would be the sarcasm between the characters was a bit heavy and tiring and I thought Roxanne should lighten up a bit. But then, that is me mirroring my own personality into someone else's I would guess.

I love Destiny Landons voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She totally took the character of Roxanne and made it her own. She "IS" Roxanne! Lee was a perfect romantic counterpart, angling her combative nature with the right playfulness in his tone that the writer expertly devised in their dialogue.

Absolutely! I wanted to find out if Bram actually did get to kiss Roxanne on New Years Eve! (No .. I won't tell anyone) and I wanted to find out where she ended up after the 'wonderful climax'. There are a few turns that make you sad for the couple, but all ends well .

This is a must "listen" to all you fellow listeners who really enjoy well executed, combative foreplay and well written/descriptive literature.

The mother-daughter relationship was not very appealing to me. And I must agree with the other reviews that the whiney-ness of the daughter was grating on my nerves. I don't know if girls really are that way as I don't have daughters, but rather sons, and after listening to their 'back and forth', and am happy to not have one of them like this character.

Great tips and given concisely in a direct and uncomplicated narration. I've always loved British accents and this narrator does a really good job. I assume his is the real thing.
Yes - I would suggest this book for the short listen and positive message.

The rather simple account is narrated from the point of view of fifteen characters, and frequenly jumps from incomplete thoughts of characters only to be resumed in later chapters. Addie Bundren dies and her dirt-poor Mississippi family honors her wish to be buried not on their land but in nearby Jefferson. Although each chapter is narrated by a member or friend of the family - and the outward journey in a mule-driven wagon fraught with trials - ,even these are always secondary to the interior, often confusing, and usually dark revelations of the characters.

I cut and pasted this review because it is an excellent review of Faulkners story. It was an excellent and fine piece of work, nicely weaved into an entertaining audio.

Just some of the character voices were not quite right, but still did a good job and I enjoyed listening to him very much.
