I really couldn't find a plot in the first 2 hours of the book. The story line was erratic at best, and at times completely random. There were a few spots where I thought a passable story was going to emurge, but the incredible amount of similes and completely unnecessary elaboration on irrelevant details made it impossible to finish. At times, it seem like there was litterally a simile in every sentense. Many of them were really random comparisons of things that were either annoyingling hokey or hard to follow. I can tell that the narrator is partly to blame for this stinker of a performance, but the heart of the problem is weak storytelling. I regret the $4.95 I spent on this, but I'm glad I didn't waste a whole credit.

I'm a huge Heilein fan, and Spider made be very happy with this book. I'm just sad that there won't be any more Heinlein books. Now I'm going to check out some of Spider's other books.

I found this audio book hard to follow. The reader had great accents, but his volume often trailed off at the end of sentenses to the point where I couldn't make out words. The audio might have benefitted from an audio compressor to make the low/quiet parts easier to hear. The story also would have benefitted by adding music between the scene changes. The reader would often change between scenes and characters, and I wouldn't realize it for at least a minute. I'm going to try to read this one because I hear it's a good book. I've listened to a lot of audio books, and I would not recommend this unless you are very patient and plan to listen in a quiet environment.

I've been a fan of David Weber from the Honor Harrington Series. This audio book was a fun listen all the way through. Very easy to follow and a good story. It's not a monumental masterpiece, but its very entertaining and a good listen.

I found the older man's voice to be so gravelly that I could not understand what he was saying. I had to stop listening after 2 hours because I was so bored, and couldn't detect the semblance of a plot. The first part of the book consists of the old guy talking about the boring minutia about his day. Very boring. Save your money.

I loved the Dies the fire Trilogy and am reading the Island in the Sea of Time. Great writing and attention to detail about how people would really survive when technology fails. Great characters, action and struggle against good and evil.
