"An eye opener for a Brady"
I did enjoy this book but nowhere near as much as Valarie Bertinelli's, maybe because of the way it was read or the story itself just didn't have the same impact. It was very informative and a worth the listen but at times her reading of it can be over dramatised for want of a better word, slow also comes to mind.
"What an entertaining story about a father and son!"
Yes I would but I usually only read books once but maybe in time I would again
Rob Lowe's "Stories I only tell my friends" although his is not with his family it is about the same era and times.
I love the way they sound so much alike at times it is like the same person reading the book all the way through....I do think Martin Sheen should do more books I enjoy the way he reads
There were quite a few and from both of them
If you love memoirs this is definitely one you should read
"Entertaining and enjoyable"
Yes it would a story that I would listen to again
Part of the Pride by Kevin Richardson
I like the tones and inferences that she uses it really feel like you are there living the story, that's not easy to do when you are just reading words on a page
When Elsa died I had a few tears it was sad
"A real masterpiece-----I couldn't stop listening!!"
Absolutely, listen to it or read it but it's definately a must, the story is fantastic.
The characters and the way both races are portrayed is so apt for the era it was set.
It's the voices that make it real, you know when the maids are talking and the employers it makes it so much easier to listen to and follow and just plain believable.
Yes when the daughter realises just how sick the mother is, she always portrays her as annoying and only interested in the trivial things but realises that there is more to her but only when she finds out just how sick she is.
Just listen to it or read it.....you'll be happy you did.
"I was hooked from the first 5mins"
I enjoy hearing about the life these girls had to lead and how they found a way to live withing the endless rules that had been placed on them...it was good to hear triumph over the odds.
Kamila, the way she approaches things and deals with what comes to her is wonderful.
I find the readers voice entrancing and she keeps you focused on the story and you want to hear more.
I laughed and cried through the book, the girls had their moments but the descriptions of what happed to some was heartbreaking for me and unlike who told the story I wasn't there so imagine how they felt.
It is well worth a listen I found the whole thing uplifting so now if I think I am having a tough time I just remember what they lived through and I can see I am not really doing it tough.
"I didnt bother to finish it"
I was disappointed with this book, I found it was really of no interest to me yet was looking forward to it.
"this is an amazing story and very inspiring"
I think this would have to be a favourite of mine.
Another book called
I think it's the way he read it and the way the he made you feel as though you were really being told the story face to face.
I laughed and cried at different places in the book...the journey is incredible
If you listen to at least one persons story of
"Triumph over tragedy"
I was hooked from the first words spoken. This story is amazing how this person overcame a horrific start in life I am sure needs to be heard or read by many so they know they are not alone and that it really is possible. Do yourself a favour and have a listen you wont be sorry even though Mark doesn't read this the man that does makes you think that you are listening to Mark and are there with him telling you the story viewing his life through Mark's eyes.
"An amazing lady and story"
I loved this book, not only did it change the way I think about her but a number of topics she touches on in the book , she read it well and you just hear the talent in her voice. I think that the way she tells the story is heartfelt and honest and she really did this for her benefit as much as for ours to hear it. An amazing story from an amazing legend of screen and life!
"An amazing story"
This was a great story that needed to be told. I enjoyed hearing about the struggles and hardships that were endured. The only thing I found hard to listen to was the actual talk about NFL as I am Australian I would liken this to someone from the USA listening to a story about an Australian cricket legend... this aside I did learn about the game and the story itself kept me interested the whole way.
"Amazing Amazing Amazing"
I was so sorry that this book ended... I loved the whole thing from start to finish. Forget acting Rob your impersonations are fanbloodytastic....that is the only thing I would say that I think you would miss when you read the physical book. Well narrated, interesting and although he talks about himself and talks about all the right people he never over does it doesn't feel like name dropping. He has alot more to live and I am sure there is more in his career to write about down the track...I will be ther first to get a copy.
