Cynical, mean, vicious and... hilarious! Humorless, rightwing, gun-toting, narrow-minded Bible-thumpers will not enjoy. Everyone else - buy this audiobook and laugh - it's all we have left.
This is a wonderful story that really needs an editor. I read and listen to dozens of books a year and I had a hard time keeping track of the veritable army of characters performing in myriad scenarios. This work demonstrates, as nothing else I've read does, the job of the literary editor. With an editor and another couple of rewrites this could be a great book.
This might be a competently crafted book. It's hard to tell. The amateurish narration and nightmarishly bad audio quality completely overwhelm the author's words. I applaud the fact that the author was able to get this do-it-yourself project on Audible. It does, however, make you appreciate the expensive professional actors, sound engineers, and editors that publishers provide.
I can't believe I paid money for this rightwing tripe. I only listened to ten minutes and it was like I'd been locked-up for a year in Gitmo forced to listen to Glenn Beck. What a piece of crap.
First Rate! Well crafted mystery, murder, spy novel. Ludlum at his best. I'll miss him.
GREAT! Uncompromising, pulse-pounding action. Fascinating, well-defined characters. Unexpected twists and turns at every corner. Literate yet cinematic. Attention, Film Development Executives. option this book, immediately - seven figure deal - huge hit movie follows - you end up running major movie studio.
"Reason" by Robert Reich changed my life. I am a Liberal. I was raised Southern Baptist, but, even as a child, conservative views didn't make sense to me. The conservative agenda is now and has always been counterintuitive to everything The United States of America stands for: freedom, justice, democracy, security, a decent quality of life and the rule of law for all. Consequently, I've always been baffled how a few rich, powerful, corporate-backed conservative demagogs can so easily con massive numbers of Americans, whose lives would obviously be better served by Liberal programs, into embracing the virulent Far-Right's radical views and do their bidding. Robert Reich explains how we arrived at this historical low-point with such thoughtfulness and clarity that I am forever altered and eternally grateful to him.
