At its core, The Power of Habit contains an exhilarating argument: The key to exercising regularly, losing weight, raising exceptional children, becoming more productive, building revolutionary companies and social movements, and achieving success is understanding how habits work. Habits aren’t destiny. As Charles Duhigg shows, by harnessing this new science, we can transform our businesses, our communities, and our lives.

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Divergent?

The sci fi aspect of this book brings a social commentary on our world, and the tendency of humans to group themselves into cliques, that judge others by how different they are from the 'rest' of the people not like them.
That is why I loved this book.
It is a very grown up concept that adults and young adults are challenged by, when they read this book.
It races along at a fast clip, and is engaging and suspenseful the whole time

Which character – as performed by Emma Galvin – was your favorite?

Trice is my favorite, though Four is almost tied

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, did not ever want to stop

    Any additional comments?

Cannot wait to start the next in series

  • 11-22-63: A Novel

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I love stories with a historical grounding, and Steven king tells a complex yarn with great context of history. The characters are wonderful and fully developed. There is a lot of detail to support the story, and there is a great ending. I could not stop listening to this book, and did not want it to end.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sadie is my favorite, but really they are all wonderful, even the yellow card man.

    Which scene was your favorite?

There are too many to count. Maybe the very last scene was my favorite though.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I did like this book (after 4 before this, why would I read it, if I did not like the characters?)
but was very disappointed that it was not the last book in the series, and so none of the story lines actually end. So was disturbed to realize that nothing was finished in this book.
its certainly as good as all his other books in this series, and I am glad that I listened to it.
