Loved this book and have approved of all the books in the series. I do not like the narrator at all. She does not change how she describes mundane issues with how she describes fights and battles. It is very hard to get excited about the book the first time through. Definitely would not use this narrator again. Will not seek out books read by her.

I loved the 2nd book first. It is a good change from the usual epic fantasy. The problem I have is not with the book but with the narrator. She speaks very fast, very unnatural, she doesn't try to change voices with the characters, and she sounds very condescending.

I would hope that Patricia Briggs not be allowed to narrate her own books again.

It has been a busy few weeks for Private Kaylin Neva. In between angling for a promotion, sharing her room with the last living female Dragon, and dealing with more refugees than anyone knew what to do with, the unusual egg she'd been given began to hatch. Actually, that turned out to be lucky, because it absorbed the energy from the bomb that went off in her quarters. So now might be the perfect time to leave Elantra and journey to the West March with the Barrani. If not for the disappearances of citizens in the fief of Tiamaris - disappearances traced to the very Barrani Kaylin is about to be traveling with....

Before she met Dragos, half-human half-Wyr Pia Giovanni was alone and on the run. Now, she's mated, pregnant, and heading south to repair the Wyr's frayed relationship with the Elves. Being separated from Dragos is painful, but for the good of the Wyr demesne they need to figure out how to be partners, in more places than just the bedroom. In New York to preside over the Sentinel Games, Dragos is worried about his mate, but knows that finding two replacement sentinels is essential to show the rest of the Elder Races just how strong and brutal the Wyr demesne can be.

This book was a continuation of the first Elder Races book. While it showed promise at the beginning of being a new story line, it was just more of the same. I found it to be even more unbelievable than SiFi/Fantasy usually is. I do object to the abject sex and the continued use of vulgar language. I like a romance story at times; however, I got tired of hearing the word "cock" over and over. If I wanted that kind of story I would have gone to the adult book store. Overall, not a buyer. Don't waste the money or time, unless you are really looking for a hard core sexed up book. :(

In this stunning sequel to the highly acclaimed Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Karou must come to terms with who and what she is, and how far she'll go to avenge her people. Filled with heartbreak and beauty, mysteries and secrets, new characters and old favorites, Days of Blood and Starlight brings the richness, color and intensity of the first book to a brand new canvas.

Like her mother, she is gifted in blood magic, able to read what has happened to a person through a mere taste of blood. Half-human, half-fae, outsiders from birth, most changelings are second-class children of Faerie spending their lives fighting for the respect of their immortal relations. Toby is the only changeling who has earned knighthood, and she re-earns that position every day.

I found this book interesting and though I like book 1 a little better I will continue with the series. Once I find an author that I like I tend to stay true and read all their books. Very few exceptions. This book was full of mystery, action, and secrets. So I would recommend.

Pressia barely remembers the Detonations or much about life during the Before. In her sleeping cabinet behind the rubble of an old barbershop where she lives with her grandfather, she thinks about what is lost. There are those who escaped the apocalypse unmarked. Pures. They are tucked safely inside the Dome that protects their healthy, superior bodies. Yet Partridge, whose father is one of the most influential men in the Dome, feels isolated and lonely. Different. He thinks about loss - maybe just because his family is broken. When Pressia meets Partridge, their worlds shatter all over again.

Not a typical book that I would read, however, I found myself intrigued. I haven't finished the full read however I am looking forward to the end. It is not a typical SCIFI book. Read it just for the fun of it. I am not a fan of multi narrators and have found this a little disconcerting.

This book was number 3 in the series. I found it to be an interesting read. However, it did not really follow the story line of the 2 previous books, The thread it picked up on was not really an important part of either of the 2 previous books. Have to say was disappointed in that because the first 2 book were good and the 2nd book was my favorite. Over all 3.5 rating.

This says it is book one but it appears to be picking up from a previous story. They give a lot of background information that makes it very hard to follow. The other thing is that the names of the tribes and different factions makes it very hard to differentiate and gets too confusing. Would not recommend.
