Baltimore Homicide Detective J. D. Fitzpatrick has seen a lot of horrific violence, both as a cop and during his deployment in Afghanistan, but nothing like the trail of tortured bodies that are turning up throughout the city. He’s up against a brutal killer with a very personal vendetta, and now J. D. is beginning to suspect that his medical examiner may be shielding some crucial evidence linked to the case.

I am not sure if I will be able to make it through the story with this narrator. The book is otherwise ok, although this is my 2nd or 3rd Karen Rose book and the characters' are very predictable.

At midnight, in a secret medical clinic in Washington, D.C., two foreign doctors and their team are completing plastic surgery on an anonymous client who is changing the appearance of his face, among other things. After the procedure, the client begins to stir - and suddenly the operating room erupts in violence, and the clinic is ablaze.

Deutermann is unique in that he doesn't have just one main character that you follow, and his characters are always well developed. He is brilliant and this is just another example. Dick Hill is always a great narrator as well. The combination can't be beat! I listened to Deutermann because one of his books was on sale and now I look forward to every new book.

Carol Burnett is one of the most beloved and revered actresses and performers in America. The Carol Burnett Show was seen each week by millions of adoring fans and won 25 Emmys in its remarkable 11-year run. Now, in This Time Together, Carol really lets her hair down and tells one funny or touching or memorable story after another.

This was such an entertaining book, and Carol's narration really makes a difference. It is fun to hear her describe some of her old skits since I can remember seeing them when they were originally aired. You feel like you are reminiscing with an old friend. A superb book!

At the center of Home Again is Madelaine - a brilliant cardiologist, a loving mother, a tender friend, and a woman full of self-doubt. It is also the story of her confused and angry daughter, Lina, and of the two very different men Madelaine loves: Francis, a priest searching for his faith, and Angel, a talented but cynical man with a broken heart. When tragedy suddenly brings them all together, they must learn to forgive the betrayals of the past and find the courage to love again.

This book was average when compared to "Winter Garden", "Firefly Lane" and "Night Road", which were outstanding. The book was predictable and unmemorable. I am not sure I would have read more of Hannah's books if this one was the first I read (heard). The narrator drove me crazy when she ended every sentence on a high note as if it was a question. This was especially true of the main character. The narrator made the main character, a cardiac surgeon, sound indecisive and air headed.

Excellent! It gives you new appreciation for what our armed forces sacrifice. The book is fast paced, interesting and informative. The narrator put you in the story. Even if we don't agree with the war, we have to appreciate the warriors!

In a New York City fifty years in the future, Detective Eve Dallas tracks down those who break the law - including the ones sworn to uphold it. Eve Dallas and her partner, Peabody, are following up on a brutal, senseless crime - an elderly grocery owner killed by three stoned punks for nothing more than kicks and snacks. And for the first time, Peabody is primary detective on the case, which means she has to get used to a new level of authority and responsibility. Good thing she learned the ropes from a master like Eve. But after rounding up the perps, Peabody stumbles upon a much trickier situation.

I love this author and narrator. This story was especially good. Some of her stories can overdo the sex scenes - this was just the right mix - and was none-stop action. I am embarrassed to say that I listened to the entire second half in one evening (some of it driving). I could not put it down.

To Dana Steele, books and the knowledge they hold are the key to contentment. But now that search for knowledge must include the second key needed to release three souls held captive by an evil god.

    Overall

Any book that Susan Erickson narrates is worth listening to, and this one is just as good as the first in the trilogy. I am looking forward to the third! This book puts you into a different world. The characters come to life. Some of the story is predictable but never boring. I have to listen to other books between the series so I can get something done, otherwise I listen for hours!

The women at Vows - a wedding planning company in Connecticut - make it their business to create memorable events for couples sealing their bonds. And though the bonds among Parker, Emma, Mac, and Laurel may not be official, they are very real - and equally worthy of celebration.

    Mary says: "Bad Narration"

I have never left a negative review but I feel I should warn listeners. The book is probably good, I like Nora Roberts, but the narrator has a severe lipse. I found myself just hearing the lipse and had a hard time focusing on the story. I will have to actually read the book since the narrator is unbearable.
