As dusk approaches a small Dublin suburb in the summer of 1984, mothers begin to call their children home. But on this warm evening, three children do not return from the dark and silent woods. When the police arrive, they find only one of the children, unable to recall a single detail of the previous hours.

Twenty years later, the found boy, Rob Ryan, is a detective on the Dublin Murder Squad and keeps his past a secret. But when a 12-year-old girl is found murdered in the same woods, he and Detective Cassie Maddox find themselves investigating a case chillingly similar to the previous unsolved mystery.

Barbara says: "A near-flawless audiobook (but for one thing...)"
    "good for one "read""
    Overall

I thought this book was very interesting but honestly unless there will be a sequel there is too many missing pieces and the end leaves you a little frustrated. all in all it was a good read but I wouldn't listen to it again.

The Ruins follows two American couples enjoying a pleasant, lazy beach holiday together in Mexico. On an impulse, they go off with newfound friends in search of one of their group, the young German who, in pursuit of a girl, has headed for the remote Mayan ruins, site of a fabled archeological dig.

    "keeps you interested!"
    Overall

this was my first audiobook and I must say the guy who reads this does an awesome job at it. The entire book was interesting but I have to say in the end I felt something lacking. Maybe it was the lack of information. You never get any information about the plant, how it got there, it's weaknesses, etc.. just that it does it's job well. I was hoping for a hero or heroine and that too was lacking. But all in all I think its worth one read.
