First book in the series that I have listened to and I throughly enjoyed it. Hopefully the others in this series are as enjoyable.
This was ok as a story but not one that you can't put down. I had NOT read the previous parts of this series and found no difficulty in following the events as they unfolded. The book was alright but not one I would pay full price to read. The length was nice because it covered many miles of my jogging.
Although I have enjoyed other books by this author this book was not (in my estimation) worth my time or money.
Although Jesters Fortune was most enjoyable the next in the series Kings Captain is missing from Audible. The Audible series skips to Sea of Gray missing the continuation of the series (Kings Captain). I would recommend that you purchase Kings Captain and read it before starting Sea of Gray. If not you are unsure how Jester's ends and the new ship and his promotion begins.
As I listen to these novels I find it difficult, many times, to stop the story in the middle of the action. As I look over the many novels in this series it is difficult to comprehend that not all of them are on on Audible. Hopefully in future this will be rectified.
This book includes much true history of WWII including real characters as well as fictional characters. It is hard many times to realize that this is fiction because of the facts, dates and real events that actually took place that are incorporated into this story. Well worth the time.
Tears in the Darkness is tiresome in many spots. The author although introduces the main character initially he goes back to the characters life before the Army Air Corps and the Bataan Death March in the middle of the story. This becomes very tiring since the reader is more interested in the main characters time as a prisioner. In my estimation the story could be reduced by at least 1/3 and not have neglected the main idea.
Another Excellent Book by this Author - I have read and listened to all the books by this author - the books concerning Sigma I believe are the best and keep the reader/listener enthralled to the very end. I can hardly wait to the next book by this author.
Another Excellent Suspense Story by this author. Hard to put down. Amazing author who has created many tales with some truths entwined to make the story more ralistic.
This story is slightly different from the other books by this author - however it keeps you on the edge of your seat all through the story. Different characters but very engaging.
