I have just started reading/listening to Harlan Coben this summer, and have been more than pleasantly surprised. I started with "The Woods", and went on to "The Promise", and when I read "The Promise" I had to start at the beginning! In Deal Breaker we are introduced to Myron Bolitar, who is an ex-basketball star, and is now a sports agent/detective. I found this book to be both engaging and thrilling, and highly recommend it to one and all. I believe that it bridges many genres, and that it will keep you interested from the first page. I can't wait to read all of the Myron Bolitar novels!
I love a good Deveraux, and I thought for many years that only her historical romances were worth a read or listen, but I have come to really love her contemporary novels. They may all lead to the same place, but it sure is fun getting there! I originally read this novel as a hard cover novel, and just finished the latest in this series in paperback, so thought that I would relisten to the series and am purchasing them for the first time now. I am an hour away from finishing Lavender Morning, so I am here to purchase Days of Gold, that way I will continue to listen as soon as this one is done.
Another amazing book by Elizabeth Peters! I was so happy to see this book come to audible.com, as I had missed it on my way through the rest of Amelia Peabody series, so when it was released here I had to listen to this series again (4th time through), and this was the crucial missing book! Ms. Peters is an amazing author who brings Egypt to life! I find myself watching anything on the television that has anything to do with egyptology, and I find that she is incredibly accurate in the historic and technical parts of her books. The humor and mystery in this, and in fact all of her books is just down right wonderful. I find myself wishing and hoping for the next book in the series! This book can, as all of her books, be read as a stand alone, or in the series format. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did!
This audio book was not what I was expecting from Stephen King. I'm not sure if it was the reader, or just a different type of book from Mr. King. It was very difficult to get into, and in fact I was only able to listen to about 5 1/2 hours of it, I was never able to finish it. I very much enjoy Mr. King's stories, Bag of Bones, and Dreamcatcher among my favorites, so I was somewhat disappointed to have wasted my credits on this book.
Another exceptional novel by Diana Gabaldon. I have already read all of the Outlander series, but when they started to become available unabridged through audible.com I just had to purchase them and read them again! Davina Porter, who has read all of the unabridged versions of this series brings the charactors alive. Only Ms. Gabaldon could bring to life Scotland in the 1750's so vividly, I could practically hear the wind whistle through the trees, and the draw of Jamies' sword! If you get a chance grab this series, Audible has the first 3 unabridged, the other 3 abridged, but I would assume that they will come available unabridged soon.
Another stunning novel by Danielle Steel. It takes across the African planes and into beautiful palaces. This novel was somewhat better than her usual novel, I would higly recommend this one!
