Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town and a media punch line....

Where does And One Last Thing... rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 5 of this genre! Possibly top 15 overall.

What was one of the most memorable moments of And One Last Thing...?

I really loved when her mother-in-law comes to see her at her mothers house after she sends out the emailed newsletter.

Which character – as performed by Amanda Ronconi – was your favorite?

I loved all of them, but the mens voices tended to sound the same. It was still great narration though!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me proud of her! As usual, when the book ended I felt like I had lost a friend.

    Any additional comments?

If you are going through the drama of having a cheating spouse this book is for you. Download it, listen to it all the way through and let go of your own drama for a few hours like I did. It is a nice distraction to the obsession that follows infidelity.

A national best seller upon its publication, Anywhere but Here is a moving, often comic portrait of wise child Ann August and her mother, Adele, a larger-than-life American dreamer. As they travel through the landscape of their often conflicting ambitions, Ann and Adele bring to life a novel that is a brilliant exploration of the perennial urge to keep moving, even at the risk of profound disorientation. Simpson's first novel is ultimately a heart-rending tale of a mother and daughter's invaluable relationship.

What did you love best about Anywhere But Here?

I really enjoyed how the book was written giving the perspectives of several different generations of the family. It gave the story so much more depth and texture than if the author had taken a single perspective approach. The author created a storyline that drew me in and made me feel emotionally attached to the characters.

What about Kate Rudd’s performance did you like?

I really enjoyed the main characters voices but Ms. Rudd over emphasized the endingS of wordS so ofteN that it drove me nuts. There were times I had to force myself to keep listening because it was so irritating. She didn't do it until around chapter 3. I guess someone must have critiqued her work and told her to be more clear or something? Either way, it was bad advice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    YES!

    Any additional comments?

If any of you have known someone whose entire personality and mood could flip on a dime and suddenly YOU are to blame for everything wrong in their life you will be able to appreciate the main character in the book.

Sprout Bradford has a secret. It's not what you think he'll tell you he's gay. He'll tell you about his dads drinking and his mother's death. The green fingerprints everywhere tell you when he last dyed his hair. But neither the reader nor Sprout are prepared for what happens when Sprout suddenly finds he's had a more profound effect on the lives around him than he ever thought possible. Sprout is both hilarious and gripping; a story of one boy at odds with the expected.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Time spent listening to books is always well spent. Even bad books teach me new things.

Would you recommend Sprout to your friends? Why or why not?

I thought about how I would review this book for a long time. I don't want to give anyone the idea that I do not love my gay friends, becaue I love ALL of my friends. But the only way to truly review this book is with the truth about how it made me feel. Hopefully my honesty is appreciated and not taken as offensive. So here goes...

Most of my friends would not like this book. A few would, but not many. I have to be honest. This book is a story about two teenage boys having an intimate relationship and sexual acts are described in detail. There are parts of the book that made me squirm a little mainly because I have never heard or read any sort of literature describing homosexual intimacy. It gave me a chance to reflect on how I felt about my reaction to it. Books that make you self reflect are always a good thing. I learned alot about myself and how I view the world around me by reading this book.

That being said. This book is certainly not for everyone and that's okay.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I really liked the parts of the book where sprout was at school and interacting with other students.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    Probably not.

The Good House tells the story of Hildy Good, who lives in a small town on Boston's North Shore. Hildy is a successful real-estate broker, good neighbor, mother, and grandmother. She's also a raging alcoholic. Hildy's family held an intervention for her about a year before this story takes place - "if they invite you over for dinner, and it’s not a major holiday," she advises "run for your life" - and now she feels lonely and unjustly persecuted. She has also fooled herself into thinking that moderation is the key.

If you could sum up The Good House in three words, what would they be?

    Depressing. Gloomy. Dreary.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I wouldn't change it really. I said it was depressing, but stories about alcoholics generally are.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    No. Too depressing.

Now happily married with three wonderful kids, she shows that life as a grown-up - even a pretend grown-up - has its challenges. Heather’s a working mom with parents who live next door, a sister who keeps asking for one of her still-fertile eggs, and friends who are up to more hijinks than even Heather can handle.

Would you listen to My Inappropriate Life again? Why?

I might. It made me laugh out loud. I especially liked the Facebook story. Pretty darn hilarious.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I wasn't ready for it to end. I felt like I was losing a really super cool friend.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yeah, I listened to it in 2 days.

    Any additional comments?

As much as she tried to make Chelsea Handler look good I really don't think I would be able to tolerate her. I don't care how many trips she paid for her staff, she seems like she thinks she is way more important than she actually is.

I really liked the part where someone said it was totally fine that her son prefers the Ipad to actual writing. Every kid is different and it seems like at least a few people in her life are giving her sound advice.

    Katniss. Of course.

What aspect of Carolyn McCormick’s performance would you have changed?

Her voice was too adultlike. It should have been narrated by a teenager.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I wanted it to be over. I was ready for the series to end.

    Any additional comments?

This third and final book was sort of a letdown because it was so predictable. Either way, I enjoyed the series. I just wish the ending would have been better.

He believes that his life is a movie produced by God, that his mission is to become physically fit and emotionally supportive, and that if he succeeds, his happy ending will be the return of his estranged wife, Nikki. If you could sum up The Perks of Being a Wallflower in three words, what would they be?

    Honest. Shocking. Insightful.

What other book might you compare The Perks of Being a Wallflower to and why?

It's kind of like reading someones diary but in a different way.

What does Noah Galvin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It reminded me that this is a teenage boy writing the letters. His voice lent an innocence to the letters that I may not have had if I had read it myself.

Who was the most memorable character of The Perks of Being a Wallflower and why?

I really like Charlie. He's honest and innocent.

    Any additional comments?

I am a 38 year old mom of two teenagers, a boy and a girl. Sometimes I read teen lit so I can be reminded of how teen minds really work. This book was a little shocking but probably not too far off the mark for many teens.I found it interesting that this book takes place in the early 90s. That's when I was in school. Some of the things mentioned in the book seem a bit more like today.

So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

If you like those cheesy Sci-Fi channel movies that are made in week this books for you.

What was most disappointing about Peter Clines’s story?

It just took the weirdness too far. I wanted creepy not stupid.

Which character – as performed by Ray Porter – was your favorite?

I really liked all of the characters but the voice of the monster saying "My prey" creeped me out! I was worried I would have nightmares!

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from 14?

This book was great until they opened a door into outerspace and the monsters were introduced.

I'm glad I listened to it. It confirmed to me that Sci-Fi is not for me.
