Nelson Mandela is one of the great moral and political leaders of our time: an international hero whose lifelong dedication to the fight against racial oppression in South Africa won him the Nobel Peace Prize and the presidency of his country. Since his triumphant release in 1990 from more than a quarter-century of imprisonment, Mandela has been at the center of the most compelling and inspiring political drama in the world.

    History says: "Surprisingly honest autobiography."

Here is an explosive book that takes us, for the first time, deep inside a shadowy, fascinating, and surreal world of unscrupulous doctors, anything-goes team directors, and athletes so relentlessly driven to succeed that they would do anything—and take any risk, physical, mental, or moral—to gain the edge they needed to win. The Secret Race is a riveting, courageous act of witness from a man who is as determined to reveal the hard truth about his sport as he once was to win the Tour de France.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Secret Race to be better than the print version?

Better as it accents the story

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Secret Race?

    At the Aspen restaraunt

    Which scene was your favorite?

doping up just before the stage

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes with Lance and Dr. Ferrari both doing a great job at lying

    Any additional comments?

I have known of doping in the Tdf and cycling for years. I hope that through this book the sport will finally come clean. I am not holding my breath though as Lance could but will not go to the USADA and the International body to tell them what really happened. His 7 yellow jerseys on display at his house are too important to give up.

If Tully Mars had known what he was getting himself into when he agreed to help find the lost lens belonging to the lighthouse on Cayo Loco, well, he might never have agreed to help in the first place. Then again, maybe he simply would have taken a slightly longer nap before setting off on his wild adventure. And it isn't just Tully, whom Buffett fans will remember well from Jimmy's best-selling Tales from Margaritaville, on the madcap quest.

In this lyrical, unsentimental, and compelling memoir, the son of a black African father and a white American mother searches for a workable meaning to his life as a black American. It begins in New York, where Barack Obama learns that his father, a figure he knows more as a myth than as a man, has been killed in a car accident.

From Andre Agassi, one of the most beloved athletes in history and one of the most gifted men ever to step onto a tennis court, a beautiful, haunting autobiography. Agassi brings a near-photographic memory to every pivotal match and every relationship. Never before has the inner game of tennis and the outer game of fame been so precisely limned.

Based on more than 40 interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.

What did you love best about Steve Jobs?

His persistence and belief in what many would consider impossible.

What other book might you compare Steve Jobs to and why?

I hav not read many biographies and none comparible to his.

What does Dylan Baker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Words written can be powerful. Words read well as a story are priceless and left me with an indellible impression.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. This covered a man's life and needed to be digested bit by bit. No way could one read this in one sitting unless you were doing a all nighter.

    Any additional comments?

Glad I got an iPhone not only for the read yet now I know what went into it.
