When the Lusitania sank, more than one 1,000 people died. One passenger, however, survived to become a changed man, giving up his life as a petty thief but keeping a small silver statue that would become a family heirloom to future generations. Now, nearly a century later, that heirloom, one of a priceless, long-separated set of three, has been snatched away from the Sullivans.

What disappointed you about Three Fates?

The narrator is appalling. Narration is so boring and her voice grates. The men sound like perverts. Names are mispronounced. Accents very badly done. Through the narrator's performance, the story is uninteresting, proceeding like a dull flat line. What a pity because the story itself seems exciting and the characters have promise but in the hands of this narrator I couldn't wait to get to the end so I didn't need to listen to her awful storytelling anymore.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

It's not the story but the narrator that needs changing.

Would you be willing to try another one of Bernadette Quigley’s performances?

    No way.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    The story seems interesting enough.

In the LAPD's Open-Unsolved Unit, not many murder victims die almost a decade after the crime. So when a man succumbs to complications from being shot by a stray bullet nine years earlier, Bosch catches a case in which the body is still fresh, but all other evidence is virtually nonexistent. Now Bosch and rookie Detective Lucia Soto, are tasked with solving what turns out to be a highly charged, politically sensitive case.

I love the Harry Bosch series and have been needing through the books, but this one just left me cold. The narration was still monotonous that it was hard to get into the story. His poor performance makes this story uninteresting and vey difficult to get through. Bring back Lou or find a better narrator. This guy is killing the series.
