"SAMPLE BEFORE BUYING"
The direction and/or narration of this audiobook is so slow that it makes the book almost incomprehensible. Each comma is a paragraph, each period a chapter. What remains is an exercise in focused concentration, for holding onto the subject of a sentence from start to finish is truely a task.

"Sample first!"
I am a fan of Mr. Hiaasen and have enjoyed reading all his books. The problem here is the narrator. She has a stunningly beautiful voice, perfect diction, a slow pace, no sense of humor, and very little talent in character deliniation (Valley girls, gold-rush prospectors, and subtle cartoon voices). She sucked all the fun out of this one. Sorry I didn't buy the book.
"Do it."
Yeah. It's a really good story. Can't go wrong.
"Beautiful"
Stunning! Highly recommended! McDermott paints pictures with words, melodies with sentences. Literature as art. Plimpton's narration only adds to the beauty. If you love books, listen here.
"Wonderful"
A delightful foray into the nature of family and love, and whether either is definable or teachable. Like his previous novel, you're left wondering how Mr. Haddon knows these things. Smashing fun.
"Yes!"
Brilliant.
